Easy to use and accurate for measuring min and max peak levels
I wanted a sound level meter that could capture peak noise levels like rifle shots. Many of the lower priced ones said they only measured the average levels. This one was supposed to measure shot noise levels and it works very nicely for that. Just turn it on, hit min/max and it will start storing the min and max values. After the event of interest has occurred, press min/max and the peak max value appears, press min and the smallest min value appears, press min/max again and the previous max level and min level are cleared and the unit is back in the min/max measuring mode again. The unit couldn't be easier to use and the readings seem accurate.

Works well for my purposes. Good value
I have no way of calibrating the device, but it seems to be more responsive and repeatable than my iPhone app. Used to monitor a dehumidifier performance. Room background around 38 Db, Unit level on high at 3 feet around 58 Db, at 10 feet around 50Db. Those readings compare well with readings taken by a review site with better instrumentation. Good unit for casual work. Decent quality, easy to use

Does the job.
Does a good job with differences but I would spend more on a higher quality product the next time.

Two volumes
As an aging entertainer, it's long been obvious that audiences in their later years know only two volumes, "too loud" and "I can't hear you". With venues ranging from living rooms to fire halls, the answer is to actually measure the audio level. This inexpensive device provides a quick check without opinion. By placing the meter at approximately the same distance from the speakers, the volume can be adjusted with consistency. Exact accuracy for my use isn't as important and being able to establish a relative set up. It will get used over 100 times this year. Can you hear me now?

Great product
Great product for the price. It does pick up a lot of the background noise tho. But it does work like it says.

Barely usable: measures up to 4kHz. Humans hear up to 20kHz. The foam top can be easily lost.
I purchased this devices for a single purpose: measure road and wind noise in number of new cars I was going to test drive. To my surprise I found that a very noisy road did not create an adequate rise in reading numbers. My wife confirmed that our perceptive noise level was way worse than 1-2db difference the device would indicate. Upon examining the specs I found that the device only reads noise up to 4kHz, while the road noise had plenty of high frequency component to it, even to my musically-deaf ears. So I don't mean to berate the device for it was not designed for, but I'm sure most of people would buy it like me, "this measures noise level? cool, give me one". Well, it does and it doesn't, and it's just not quite fair in my opinion. This should have come with a big disclaimer: "Measures 1/5th of what your ear can hear." Also, on a minor note, the foam thingy is not attached in any way and we lost in in our second car, quite frustrating because it really became useless after. It registers much higher numbers without the sponge.

Simple easy to use
Works really well. Best way to measure your illegal exhaust cat back over 95db lol 😂

Uses batteries a lot faster than I would like!
Good clear screen, readability, seems pretty accurate, good quality and easy to use. Very portable. It is very handy to have. Cons: the batteries don’t last very long, it eats up batteries pretty quick
