It is not. You will have to rub to get your silver clean.

This is not necessarily the manufacturers recommendation. But this is how I‘ve kept my silver clean and polished for years. I use my silver plated flatware every day. 1. wash the silver in hot soapy water. 2. Use a soft cloth with the silver polish to clean the silver. 3. Back in the hot soap water 4. Dry and polish with a soft dry cloth. 5. Store in a protective case or not as good but works nearly as well: I lined my silverware drawer with Pacific cloth. Using silver regularly and washing with hot soapy water cuts down on the polishing. I only polish my flatware about twice a year. But again this is my personal technique. However, I would not leave any residue from the polish on the silver.

Will this remove the blackened patina from my antique silver?

I accidentally spilled bleach on my Tiffany silver bracelet which immediately turned black. This silver polish removed all the black. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. However, I would test on the back first.
