Ignis Ethanol Fuel Fireplace Fuel 24 1-Quart Bottle Pack for Ventless Ethanol Fireplaces

It's my first time using this fuel. It is the least expensive available, so I gave it a try. It does have a bit of an odor, compared to other fuels I've used, but while burning, no odor is present. It burns clean and the flames look good. I haven't noticed any soot build up or any other residue left behind. Ethanol fuel is fairly expensive, so I will probably continue using this fuel to save a few bucks.

My only point of comparison is fuel from E-NRG that was recommended by the burner company. I purchased Ignis fuel this time around because the price point was much better. Other reviewers have referenced a strong ignition and various degrees of odor with this fuel. I found the ignition to be entirely normal, and the odor hard to quantify... noticeable at times, but not substantially so. It burns with a nice flame, perhaps a little more rapidly than the E-NRG, with a slightly taller flame, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell the difference in a blind test. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase.

Smell it’s strong wile burning and after

This fuel gave off a noxious odor that not only set off my smoke alarms in the house but also was so strong that I had to open my doors and turn on my kitchen and bathroom vent fans to ventilate the downstairs. I also had to open my bedroom window for the night to ensure I was not breathing in any harmful fumes. Even when the fuel was not burning, it still emitted a horrible smell. I had to put the fireplace fuel trays outside. I am still working with the company for a refund; however, I cannot return the fuel since it is a hazardous material. Buyer beware!!

The containers all have a little invisible film on them, even after you peel off the seal. It came out really unevenly and left me with a huge dangerous mess of flammable liquid. :-(. I will peel the rest off and scrape off the film on the rest of them but the first 3 were a mess!

I've enjoyed using this product and this is the third purchase of a multi bottle pack. The flames produced are fantastic and the shipping is always fast. I've tried other brands and found this one to have the best flame and less odor than the other brands (and yes, combustion will ALWAYS produce some by-product that has an odor, including real wood. So I don't understand the concept of completely "odorless" when burning fuels.) Good heat production so I always stay stocked up for cold weather in case the power is down. Great product, good price, fast delivery. I plan to stay a customer.

I have been burning my Bio-Fuel fireplace for 3 years now and have tried two other products. Ignis Bio Ethanol burns hotter, adding more heat to the room and a bigger and brighter flame than the other products plus it cost less. Once it gets hot there is almost no odor and the quart burns for about 2.5 to 3 hours. I will buy this fuel again next season.
