18 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 70cl

Beautifully smooth whisky with nice fruit overtones, without doubt the finest whisky I have ever tasted, the reviewers who gave this a poor review have more then likely had their taste buds burned off with too many curries.

It will be used after Xmas dinner to warm the pallet as we sit and reflect on the year we've had.

I've not tried them all yet, but this will take some beating. Wow! Check back in 40 years or so and I'll let you know if I find better. You will leave time between nips as the amazingly long lasting smoky flavour fades to be replaced at the next nip by sweet Battenberg cake and back to fading smoke..a splendid dram.

Make no mistake, Highland Park 18 is an excellent whisky. But compared to the 12 year old, which is one of, if not THE best value whisky on the market, the 18 year old has plenty of competition in the £100 market. There's additional depth of flavour and smoothness, with more honey than I was expecting, but for the same price, you can get some fantastic 21 or even 25 year old drams, such as the Glengoyne or Glendronach 21, and the Glenfarclas 25 is only a few pence more. The Glenmorganie 18 is also comparable quality, but normally found about £85-90. Don't get me wrong, this is a fine spirit, but the pricing is off, so rarely at the top of my shopping list as a result.

For me this has the same peaty, smokey texture of the 12 yr Highland Park but it has a slightly smoother taste. The after taste is smokey which turns into a sweet honey. Overall this is very well balanced and is a real treat to drink. would recommend to anyone who appreciates a single malt.

I think Highland Park have went down the mass production , high turnover route . Its a real shame as they could be one of the greats . This series is released often so I returned this as my 10 , 12, and 15 were from a different year . Quite difficult to get a complete set as it is not immediately obvious which year each was released.

Slight peatiness wonderfully balanced with the Highland Park characteristic sweetness. Feels like a natural step up from the 12 yo in every way. Bottle design gorgeous as usual.

Ob pur oder mit einem Tropfen Wasser: jeder Schluck ist ein Genuss. Die Reifung bringt Tiefe, und das Finish ist lang und angenehm. Ja, er ist nicht ganz günstig, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt meiner Meinung nach absolut – Qualität hat hier ihren Wert. Seit Jahren mein Favorit – ein Whisky, der Maßstäbe setzt.

Il mio preferito. Gusto morbido con finale leggermente torbato e persistente. Non certo a basso prezzo, ma una o due bottiglie all'anno non me le nego! Consigliato
