Great henna chaser
No problems with this product. I have medium-brown hair whose color I like to enrich without chemicals, harsh root lines, and to cover a few emerging grays. I don't like how orange/brassy the henna comes out on its own but I like the deep brown reddish tones resulting from applying indigo in a separate application after my henna application. It results in a dark chocolatey brown with deep red tones. The hues can be tweaked depending how you mix & how long you leave either of them on. Henna develops and bonds in an acidic environment while indigo likes alkaline so they don't develop or take well together but can make some pretty, deep reddish brown colors together especially if you apply them separately in 2 steps, henna first.

Great product!
This indigo was so impressive that it stained my fingernail, making it difficult to remove. This really demonstrates the quality of the product. If you want to avoid staining your nails, be sure to wear gloves!

but had since gotten this dull lifeless color
Although it's a time consuming messy process, I feel it is well worth it. The Henna powder and Indigo powder helps to strengthen my hair and make it more manageable, so there's less breakage which allows it to maintain the length as it grows. My hair was once very black, but had since gotten this dull lifeless color. After using the indigo powder it restored my black hair back to a lustrous deep rich shiny black. I will definitely purchase these two items again.

Five Stars
indigo can leave hair burgundy after a few days- brown hair too! Try using Spirulina to get orange brassy color out. It does condition the hair better than Henna. Henna is needed to help bond dye, but add spirulina to indigo paste to take out brassiness and orange. Indigo looks, smells and acts just like henna. but it is Indigo- you can mix Amla, Cassia (neutral henna like plant that helps bind color), which is gold/tan on gray, with a bit of henna and indigo. My hair turns brassy/red with just henna and cassia. I need 2 part cassia, 2 part indigo, 1 part henna to get a beautiful golden brown, but it fades to burgundy so:indigo can leave hair burgundy after a few days- brown hair too! Try using Spirulina to get orange brassy color out. It does condition the hair better than Henna. Henna is needed to help bond dye, but add spirulina to indigo paste to take out brassiness and orange. Conditioner to take it out- do not bother shampooing. Excellent quality product, comes quickly, I keep in ziplock bag in refrigerator. it will darken for another day- careful.

Worked BETTER Than Expected
I have coarse, rebellious gray hair that constantly challenge my good hair days. I don't expect henna to completely hide them, but to stain them well enough to blend with the rest. This coverage was great! I mixed henna and indigo to darken my naturally dull, brown hair and to stain my gray an auburn color. The bottom 2" of my hair was previously died and I hate the color. This tints that section perfectly, too. I followed the directions on the package and did not add any additional products and I swear my hair is softer and more vibrant. I will purchase again.

Stop Sending Old Henna
I’ve been buying henna for a long time, so I’m very familiar with what fresh henna powder should look like. It should be green. The product I received is consistently yellow instead, which is a clear sign that it’s old or oxidized. At first, I thought it might be due to how I stored it and even discarded a few packages. However, my most recent order arrived like this immediately after opening, confirming the issue is not on my end. The performance reflects this as well. The color payoff on gray hair is very weak, which suggests the henna is no longer fresh or potent. I would not recommend this product unless the seller can ensure fresher batches and proper storage.

Not as effective as other brands and caused headache and nausea
Original review: I have used a few other brands of Indigo powder and henna dyes (all purchased on Amazon) with great results and no side effects. I purchased Henna Guys Indigo powder to give it a try based on great review. The Indigo dye process started fine. But right after leaving Henna Guys Indigo on my hair for two hours, I developed severe headache and nausea to the point of throwing up. The headache persisted a few hours after I thoroughly washed it off. Also the Henna Guys Indigo color did not take after two hours on hair that was dyed with Henna. Because it's past the return date, I could no longer return it. Every person is different. I have to rate it one star based on my personal experience. For anyone who's new to this brand, I suggest give the powder a try right after receiving. This way you'll know if there's an allergic reaction right away. EDIT: My one star review was from mixing this with water and a bit of salt, developed for 15 min, then left on for 2 hr. Since then I've tried modifications as such: mixing this with a teaspoon of baking soda and water, developed for 15 min, then left on for 40 min. The result was reddish brown and no headache. I upped the review from one to three stars because I did not have to do this with other brands of Indigo. Hopefully this helps a little for anyone who has issues with this brand of Indigo (or any brand they were allergic to).
