My favorite mini mechanical metronome
From when I was little, we always had this Wittner metronome next to our piano, and it has worked quite well. When I was purchasing a new metronome for myself, I saw this, and I decided to get it. The mechanism is very crisp and it is quite loud despite the small size. It's also very well made, and I could toss it into my bag and take it with me everywhere. When fully wound, while it doesn't last as long as the full size model I grew up with, it does last quite a long time. The quality is just as good as any other Wittner metronome and it is made to be very precise. If I lost the one I had, I would definitely get another one.

Loud clicks is what I wanted
I bought this after seeing the one my teacher had. I loved the fact I could hear the clicks clearly even over loud playing. I have only used it for about a week and I compared to the electronic one I have and it does seem to lose a little after about 3-4 minutes. I assume because of the winding aspect of the device. Over all I like it and think it is a solid little metronome. If you need it because you teach in others homes or you travel to play I would say it would do the trick for you.

Great metronome, but this is the second mini Taktell ...
Great metronome, but this is the second mini Taktell I've had, and both have had part of the plastic on the clear case break off within weeks. You have to be VERY careful putting the cover on and off. I'm just surprised they haven't come up with a little bit more durable solution.

Perfect size and very sturdy
This metronome works great, I enjoy the old style metronomes and this one is perfect for traveling. Very solid and great sound.

Great little metronome, can travel!
I ordered the black color, so I was nervous when the box had a picture of the brown one, but it was the correct item. Easy to set up and use right away. I learned the adjustable weight can come off—oops! After fumbling with it for a while, I found it’s easiest to adjust the weight when the pendulum is docked. Works great and fulfills my nostalgia for a classic metronome at a lower cost and smaller, portable size.

Great Portable Metronome, Especially for Students
I've been using these things for a quarter century and they're still my favorite metronome for keeping in a guitar or clarinet case, and for new students' practice sessions. The quality and precission on these today is just as good as when I bought my first one 25 years ago, and the price hasn't increased more than about 25% in all that time. The many electronic metronomes I've tried work OK for me in most settings, but they are NOT the best choice for new music students. First off, the dry "click" of this mentronome is a more precise audible cue than the mushy "beep" presented by many electronic devices. Secondly, When a student is first trying to internalize a sense of rhythm, they need as many reinforcements as possible, and a sound cue alone is often insufficient. I've found studnets nearly always do better when they also have a -visual- cue for the rhythm, such as the well-defined swing of a pendulum. This provides a broader cue than a flashing LED, and one more easily grasped from the corner of the eye while reading music. I always have my new students obtain a Taktell Super-mini. For accuracy, durability, compactness, and price, I've yet to find anything better.

lopsided beat
The beat is uneven at all speeds. This is a defective product.

German Engineering at its finest
easy to use and durable. Bpm’s are clearly defined and gives a projecting meter.

Portable mechanical metronome great for acoustic instruments. Just wind and set. Easy, accurate, and gives a very solid click to keep you in time while the pendulum offers visual feedback should you need it. Better than any battery model!

Comodissimo, portatile, robusto. Nessun problema con la spedizione. Non amo quelli elettronici anche se più semplici ed affidabili... sono anziano :-)

This is the perfect metronome for traveling and/or practicing with. I have attached a video to this review... There is a plectrum against the metronome to help give you an idea of just how small it is. I have absolutely nothing bad to say against this product... It works perfectly, and is very good quality. Positive points: - Fits into all of my guitar and banjo cases. - Very lightweight. - Very loud for it's size, but pleasant on the ears. - More than accurate enough for most applications. I highly recommend this product If you prefer mechanical metronomes... Just buy one already! 🙂👍
