Best Beginner-Friendly Coffee Machine with Built-in Grinder
We recently bought this coffee machine as first-time users, and we’ve only just started drinking black coffee, so we were looking for something simple and convenient. This machine turned out to be a great choice. The standout feature is the built-in coffee grinder, which means you can use fresh beans every time without needing a separate grinder. It also doesn’t require paper filters, which is very convenient and saves money in the long run. The machine is very easy to use, even for beginners like us, and the coffee tastes fresh and flavorful. Cleaning and maintenance are simple as well, making it hassle-free for daily use. Overall, it’s a great all-in-one coffee machine and perfect for beginners who are just getting into black coffee. Definitely worth the purchase!

My new favorite way to start my morning
The BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Mill and Brew Coffee Maker has quickly become my go-to daily coffee solution thanks to its thoughtful 2-in-1 grind-and-brew design and compact footprint. What stands out most is the convenience. Having a built-in grinder eliminates extra steps and equipment, and the grind quality is excellent—consistent and fresh, which directly translates into better-tasting coffee. The ability to adjust brew strength is a big plus, allowing me to tailor each pot to personal preference. Setup is straightforward, the water tank is easy to access and fill, and the overall design is sleek without taking up unnecessary counter space. For a grinder-equipped machine, it’s also relatively quiet, which is appreciated during early mornings. Everything about the user experience feels intuitive and well thought out. Pros: • True all-in-one grind and brew convenience • High-quality, consistent grind • Customizable brew strength • Easy setup and simple water refill • Sleek design with a small counter footprint • Quieter grind than expected for this category Cons (minor but worth noting): • No audible alert when brewing is complete or when the unit powers off • If reheating without disabling the grinder, it will re-grind used grounds • Grounds basket can be a bit messy to clean, with some grounds ending up in the sink Despite these minor usability quirks, the overall performance and convenience far outweigh them. This machine delivers great coffee, reliable performance, and excellent value, and I expect it to remain my primary coffee maker moving forward. Recommendation: Highly recommended for coffee drinkers who want fresh-ground flavor without extra equipment or counter clutter.

Near perfect! Do not waste $200+ on other "better" brands
This auto grind brewer is coffee's best kept secret with MAYBE one catch. This is my third time purchasing one. I keep coming back each year because for the price you can't beat it. It outperforms the 300+ Breville I had to warranty twice. The Breville was a giant pain to clean every day with poorly designed construction. This is 1/4 of the price, the basket and blade design is simple, easy to use, and easy to clean. NOTHING beats freshly ground coffee ready as I wake up. Now THIS is my third one. I've bought one each year because the water eventually stops dripping very fast into the basket, and it actually gets so hot that much of the water evaporates before it gets to the carafe. Is this a durability issue or is it because I'm terrible at regular cleaning and descaling? Giving Black and Decker the benefit of the doubt here, but no amount of descaling seems to solve this - but again it may be because I hadn't kept up routine maintenance. Other than that, I love everything about it, including 12 cup capacity that is perfect for me drinking coffee all morning.

Still the best-kept secret drip maker out there, but….
This might be my 5th or 6th one of these; I’ve owned them since before Black and Decker purchased the original maker (Breville?). Yes, it’s a blade grinder vs burr for us coffee snobs. However, waking up to freshly-ground hot coffee is still a joy in this life. Plus when I do get snobby or it’s a special coffee I use my separate burr-grinder and put the grinds in the basket that way, and obviously it works just fine with pre-ground coffee. Why have I been through so many? Well, first of all we’re talking about over a period of maybe 20 years. At least 1 replacement was a broken carafe and it was easier and almost cheaper at the time to just buy a new machine. Another time I thought my blades were getting dull, but on my new machine they weren’t much sharper (they’re really not sharp at all). And while I’m pretty good about cleaning my machine regularly using either vinegar or commercial products, sometimes it just doesn’t work as well as it used to and it’s time for a new one. Really easy to clean overall, and I like a LOT of variation in my coffee (generally have around a half-dozen in vacuum cans at any given time), so that’s why I prefer this style over models that take like a full pound for the storage bin. If you only use one type of whole bean then maybe that is a better product for you but of course this one would still work and is MUCH cheaper than those styles. THE 1-STAR DING PROBLEM: After all these (5-star) models that have gone through my hands, I re-upped with another new system last month (the old one was about 7 years old and no amount of cleaning was bettering the drip). I noticed in the reviews some people were mentioning a clicking noise from the hot plate; something I had never experienced in the past. And OMG—sure enough, on my 1st brew with the new machine the hot plate cycled on and the amount of clicks and pops were like popcorn being made, lasting about 15 seconds every minute or so and loud! It was SO annoying! Really sounded like the glass carafe was cracking every time. After a week it only seemed to actually worsen, so I exchanged it. Next one……exact same thing. Exchanged it again….and this one still pops and crackles a little bit but MUCH more quietly and not nearly as numerous (like, maybe 2 or 3 light pops when the plate cycles). So, something changed in their internal works and I guess it’s hit or miss at the moment. All that said and on the plus side, the hot plate with these 3 new models is definitely hotter than any of the ones I’ve owned in the past. I never got into the thermal carafe thing and also usually would microwave my mug for about 45 seconds to warm it up further—I don’t really need to do that anymore because it’s definitely keeping the coffee hotter. I hope the clicks and pops might settle down over time as the metal, glass and plastic “wear in”; and if it does I’ll upgrade the review. TLDR—amazing coffeemaker, particularly for the cost but some new manufacturing has made it noisy. Screw ‘em! Keep exchanging it until you get a quieter one, give B&D your feedback, and hopefully they’ll fix the issue. Enjoy!!

Everything!
I’ve had this now for about four days and I have to say this is the most amazing coffee pot I’ve ever owned and I’m 73. It takes a little practice to learn all the different buttons and what they do but once you figure it out, it makes the most amazing coffee. It keeps the coffee so hot for the longest time. This is one of the best features. I don’t have to microwave every cup. I drink because it has gotten cool. Easy cleanup. I just love it.

VERY DISSAPOINTED!
I purchased this coffee maker during an October sales special, after doing a lot of research on it. I didn't put it into use right away, because my beloved 20 year old Grind and Brew decided to work again for a little while longer. Once I did use it the first time, I was past the 30 day return period. The first time that I used it, it was easy to set up and with a little adjustment, it worked right away. It's been problematic since the 2nd time that I used it. Now, some days it works like it should, but more often it doesn't work. I load the coffee beans and water into it and have to spend 5 or 10 minutes readjusting and trying different things to get it to work. The coffee that I drank yesterday was a pot that I had started the day before. It took me many tries to getting it going. I checked all of the settings, checked that everything was properly installed and snuggly in place. I tried to run it through a cleaning cycle, but it wouldn't run. I tried unplugging and replugging it to reset it, but couldn't get it to work. Finally, I unplugged it and left it unplugged overnight. The next day I was able to run it through through a cleaning cycle and brew my coffee. I am very disappointed in my coffee pot. I spent money that I really didn't have for it, then I ended up with a bad one that I can't afford to replace.

Great little coffee maker!
This unit makes coffee as good as my $1500 Jura (which is back at the factory for repairs). Purchased it as the backup. The combination bean bin and grind chamber works great. If you follow the instructions- 1 scoop (included) per cup - you'll have some seriously strong coffee! I worked it down to 6 scoops to 12 cups of water for the perfect cup of coffee. Dump the bean grind cup, give it a rinse, pour in the water, add beans and press the ON button! Grinds the beans and starts brewing. You'll have a 12 cup in about 20 minutes. Auto start in the morning and it's ready when you fly out the door for work.

Meh
The design is compact, and the price is right. It's easy to use and clean. The coffee is adequate but not great. However, I'm mostly disappointed that I've had this two weeks, and the teflon on the heat plate is already coming off, even though I've been very careful with it. Wondering how long it will last?
