Lovely yoghurt

Makes lovely yoghurt. Just don't leave it any longer than the time stated as you'll end up with curdled yoghurt!

So far so good, I also bought another yogurt maker same brand but with glass jars. Jars to eat this large one to make Greek yogurt plus ice lollies.

Love it!

This makes amazing yogurt. I love the additional strainer to make Greek yogurt, which you can make to the thickness of your choice (depending on how long you strain it for). The main issue is that it doesn't have a timer, so you need to remember when the 10 hours are up. The other issue is that the pot is quite tall and I need to take out a shelf in the fridge to fit it in. When it's completely strained I put it in a different tub that will fit in the fridge. Be aware if you want to make Greek yogurt you do end up straining out a lot of the yogurt and don't end up with a huge amount. If you want natural yogurt I find it's quite runny.

Recommended but without a built in timer

This yoghurt maker works very well. It is well made and easy to clean. I have now been using it for two months and once I was in a routine it proves very simple to produce good yoghurt. I prefer Greek yoghurt so I strain it for a few hours and the result is perfect.The hardest part is timing. Eight hours for the initial curdle(?) and then about three hours for the straining. If you forget and leave it too long the results are unpredictable. I recommend starting early in the morning and completing everything during the day. If you forget and leave it draining overnight you can probably plaster the wall with it in the morning. Or you might like it like that, who knows. You will have to experiment.

Versatile , but simple yoghurt maker!

More than just a yoghurt maker! I can do lots of different things with this machine. I had honey and blackcurrant yoghurt today. Family loved it! Put some powdered milk in and you have extra thick. You get recipe suggestions too! Easy to keep clean.The whole package was very exciting. Thank you!

Doesn't hold right temperature

I had a few attempts with this. I initially followed the instructions that came with it, using shop bought yoghurt and leaving for 8 hours, with no heating first. It turned out slimy, the whey separated out with a guey consistency and the yoghurt was like slime - so threw away. I had a bit more luck by heating to 88c, then cooling to 44 and adding a bought starter culture and leaving for 8 hours. But I noticed that each time, the yoghurt had 'split' by about half way through, with the when and yoghurt totally separated and the end yoghurt, whilst tasking okay, being grainy.I decided to do it during the day and take temps with my digital thermometer. By 3 hours in, it was only sitting at about 30c. At 6 hours, 28c, and then back up to around 32 by 8 hours. This is far below what you need to have a good, set yoghurt with bad bacteria out competed.Maybe I got a defective unit, I don't know. Can't return as I'd thrown all the packaging away. Really disappointed as my whole reason for buying was to cut down on plastic waste by getting a glass bottle milk round and using this - but now I just have a big lump of wasted plastic machinery to put in the bin. Will buy a instant pot instead.

makes yogurt . no temperature control very basic....so good for you if that is all you need. Lena

I bought this as a quick replacement for now, I am not really keen on using plastics which the fermenting bowls are but will use whilst waiting for delivery of the type of machine I need.. I don't think it is all that for £25... others may. Workswell enough even great if that's all you need. Lena

Perfect yoghurt every time!

This little machine was exactly what I needed. The only down side as mentioned is a timer but that fully depends on your preference. I personally only needed something a bit more advanced than the good old methods for making yoghurt at home. The fact that I don't need to worry about the temperature staying constant during fermentation, AND I can strain the yoghurt to make yoghurt creamier than any supermarket yoghurt, is exactly what I needed and more. This yoghurt maker is also very compact which is a bonus! So far I have used fresh full fat milk from the supermarket and Jersey milk. Both were very successful. Since the milk was pasteurised, I heat it up on the hob (not boil) roughly to 40-45°C and then slowly mix yoghurt from the supermarket. I have used Live Set Bacteria natural yoghurt and I used about 1.5tbsp of yoghurt to add to milk. I left it to ferment overnight about 10 hours, then rested in the fridge for the day, then strained it overnight again which is optional. It makes great greek style yoghurt and I have tried adding bit of honey/natural mapel syrup and fruit to make some healthy snacks too. 100% recommend. Great value for money, compact size in small kitchens and no more money spent on supermarket yoghurts stuffed with unnecessary chemicals and additives! Don't buy if timer is absolutely essential to you, there are more expensive models with timers. HOWEVER, if like me, you don’t see an autotimer as an absolute necessity, this is the yoghurt maker for you.
