WEIZE Cargo Carrier,Cargo Rack

So we just finished an 18 hour drive. Most of it was at expressway speeds of 75 mph+ and at least half of it was in a rainy downpour. The rack was easy enough to assemble but is much easier with 2 people. Make sure it is CENTERED on your car and tied down properly without loose ends or small open areas that will whistle. If you load your bag properly to be as aerodynamic as you can you'll cut down on noise and increase gas mileage. We did see a loss of about 2-3 mpg as a result which we feel is well worth the extra space. The waterproofing was flawless but again, do it correctly. Your zipper needs to be facing the BACK of the car. All these reviews about poor waterproofing are either user error or perhaps a defect but we had no issues. The clip straps weren't the best quality but we plan to replace them with 2 more ratchet straps instead (this already comes with 2). Load was secure the whole way home from Florida and came out unharmed and dry as a bone. We fit a very large suitcase, 3 backpacks, some shopping bags and a hard 25 gal tote full of dog food in it easily with room to spare. Product seems pretty durable but we've only used it once. For less than $200 for this and the crossbars for our car, I would say it's well worth the price. A hard shell is easily 5x the cost so I would say well worth it. Just use it correctly.

The rack seems solid. The u-bolts stick way too far up though and make it difficult to move things around on the rack. Worried it will rip the bag as well. The bag seems thick and very water / windproof. It did not flap in the wind when tired with the straps. Albeit it did inflate with air where it could. Second day of use, went through a heavy rain storm. Had an inch of water in the bottom! Zipper closed, rain flap over zipper velcroed down. Not sure how do much water got in.

The rack itself is nice, however the bag was not waterproof and definitely had water in it after a hard rain which was very frustrating. We also noticed the bag has started ripping slightly so we will need to invest in a new bag or hardtop carrier. Also, one of the straps also started to tear.

Got this to put on my Sequoia. It put together pretty easily and mounted easily as well. I got the largest one to help. It covers all the roof without covering up the sunroof. It has knocked my mileage down about 1-2 mpg. I take it off when not in use since it's simple and lightweight. The middle rods seem to bend just a little bit, but with even load distribution, it shouldn't be an issue. Once mounted, it doesn't move around if everything is tightened down properly. Everything is powdercoated, so I don't see rust being an issue. I'm not a huge fan of the bolts not being the same color or coated the same as the rest of it. A very small bit of paint should take care of that to help it blend better. Haven't tested the waterproof bag it comes with yet.

Decent carrier, though one of the light welds on a smaller deck support bar broke during install. Nice for the price though, enables much extras travel storage. I mostly use it for my kayak, four pieces of 3/4" flex gray PVC electrical conduit makes for a great steel tube cover and grip onto plastic kayak when strapped upside down on top of the rack.
