Fantastic Value Controller – Hard to Beat for the Price
I picked up the GameSir X5 Lite mainly because I wanted something affordable that still felt good to use, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. For the price, it delivers way more than I expected in terms of comfort, responsiveness, and overall build quality. Comfort & Fit: It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel flimsy. The shape is comfortable for longer sessions, and the buttons are laid out in a way that feels natural right away. The grips and overall ergonomics are solid—no weird hand fatigue after a while, which I’ve had with some other budget controllers. Performance: Inputs feel responsive, and the sticks/buttons have a satisfying feel. Everything registers cleanly and it’s been reliable so far with no disconnect issues or random glitches. It just works, which is ultimately what I want. Why it’s such a good buy: What I like most is the value. I’ve used “premium” options that cost significantly more, and for everyday gaming this gets you most of the experience without paying premium pricing. In fact, for what I paid, I like this way more than a Jawbone—Jawbone always felt like you were paying extra for the name, while this feels like you’re paying for actual function. Small suggestion: If I had to nitpick, the Lite version isn’t trying to be the most premium-feeling controller on the planet, so if you’re super picky about ultra-high-end materials or extras, you might notice that. But that’s not why I bought it, and it’s absolutely not a dealbreaker. Would be really cool if they could add a small storage compartment somehow for all the rubber grommets. Overall: If you want a controller that performs well, feels comfortable, and doesn’t cost a fortune, the GameSir X5 Lite is a no-brainer. For the price, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made.

Amazing Build, Perfect Price
It's amazing! I use it with a OnePlus 13 and it fits the phone, feels great to use, the buttons are super clicky (which can make it just a little loud to use during intense games) and the input latency is basically zero. I love it! With it I've played games like Asphalt 9, Terraria Minecraft, and they are all so much easier to use with this than with touch controls. I've been using it regularly for about two months now, keeping it loose in my backpack, and it still works like it is brand new.

Great value but be gentle with it.
This is definitely a cheaper model. I'd suggest having a dedicated device for that stays connected to it if possible. And use the bumpers. My USB connector on the controller ended up breaking. Customer service has been amazing though and they are sending me a replacement. As far as functionality it works great. This a good budget option but be gentle with it

Very impressed.
I've tried different controllers and this one is interesting. First is that you get rubber bumpers of 3 different sizes so your phone can be plugged in with a case on. I have a Samsung S23 ultra and with the case i have, it would not fit any of my controllers. For me, that is a big plus. Another thing is that if you look at the pictures, its not flat like other controllers or angled. It like a ball that you grip and there's no awkward feeling when you play. The buttons have good feedback. It has a soft click to them so its kind of a middle ground if you like the click or not. It has a turbo and screen shot button. The controller is very responsive. Ill need to turn down my settings. The awesome thing is that it worked right out of the box. No set up or calibration. How long will this controller last? Idk but for the price, u cant go wrong. At the very least, its a solid backup controller.

So worth it
Great controller for the price. However I did return it for a couple reasons. 1. The controller doesn’t work with Wuthering Waves on iOS. There’s a workaround where if you plug another controller into the device and get controller functionality to work then disconnect that controller and quickly plug the X5 lite in, it works just fine. Really strange imo. 2. The handles and thumb sticks are a little small for my hands. It’s really nice looking and initially feels great but I noticed my hands getting slightly worn out when using this for a couple hours. Not even bad just slightly noticeable. Overall I actually really liked this controller. If it wasn’t for it not working with WuWa I would’ve kept it. It works with ZZZ and Xbox cloud gaming flawlessly which is nice. I have a 16 Pro Max and it’s a perfect fit to me. Super sleek looking and it would be really easy to travel with. The pass through charging is also super nice too. It was really convenient having that when playing in bed. It also snapped right in and worked. Didn’t even download the app or anything it was just ready to go. I also like how quiet the buttons are. I got the Gamesir G8 Galileo (which is how I found out about the work around to get this controller to work on WuWa) and the buttons are noticeably louder on that controller over this one. Triggers, ABXY buttons and the D-pad are all really enjoyably quiet on this controller. I would definitely recommend if you’re either on a budget, don’t play WuWa on mobile or just want something compact to carry around. This things gonna end up being the Backbone killer. Totally worth it!

Awesome
I rarely review items. If I paid what most smartphone or iPad controller makers charge (80-160 bucks) I would’ve been happy. For 34 on sale this thing is sweet! Joysticks are great, it barely seems to use any phone juice, and it’s compatible with almost every game I want to play from madden to red dead redemption. Don’t spend more - this is what you want. They knocked it out of the park with this. iPhone 15 pro max user btw

Great so far
I got it specifically to play Zenless Zone Zero on my Pixel 8 Pro in a dbrand Grip case, and it works flawlessly. I wish the game would automatically recognize the controller, but that isn't Gamesir's problem, that's Hoyoverse's problem. It's easy enough to go to settings on the login screen, and it feels much like playing the game on my Xbox. The plastics are textured and feel good, but the buttons are a bit loud. They are membranes though, so they should get quieter as they get through the break-in period. I look forward to using this for years, and actually start gaming on my phone more. It can be a bit of a pain to connect to my phone's USB port, but it's solid once it's plugged in.

This controller mounted to my phone really cooled my interest in a Steamdeck.
For a while now I have gone back and forth on wanting to buy a Steam Deck or a dedicated Android gaming handheld. I'd read reviews, watch videos, look at the specs and always put it off. I'd had a Retroid Pocket2 years back and while it was okay (Played through several PSX games on it) I found setting up and dealing with emulators a pain and its Android was always painfully slow and clunky to do anything with. We have a Switch in the house the kids love but I have never really gotten into it. (Played through Kirby Forgotten Lands and that was about it.) With the itch to do some gaming on the couch or laying in bed going unscratched I eventually stumbled on this controller and for the price decided it would be worth taking a stab at using my phone instead of a very expensive Steam Deck or other dedicated device. I've now put about 15 hours on it and I am pleased with the results. Use case: I've been streaming pixel-perfect jumping platformer games using Sunshine / Moonlight to my Pixel 5a with /e/OS and it is much better than I'd ever expected it to be. (Linux box with Steam and Sunshine connected with Cat6 to the router. Moonlight running on the phone.) The two games I have been playing the most are Curse Crackers and MainFrames and with an average of 5 - 8ms of latency according to Moonlight I feel like it is all running on the phone. (Moonlight settings 720p 60fps 8.0Mbps) I've never liked Bluetooth devices so any controller I tried with my phone was going to need a physical connection. It doesn't disappoint and is very responsive. I was able to easily fit my phone using the included mid-size pads and it holds it well but a little lower on the right side than the left but more on the fit later. I don't seem to have any issue with the position of the USB-C charging port like other users but then most of the time I am not charging while playing since there is no need to. I am not running any emulators or CPU heavy game on the phone. I don't have over heating problems or have the phone burn through the battery all that quickly. Pros: Comfortable and light weight. Physically connected to the phone so no lag from Bluetooth. No issues with the dpad giving unintended angled inputs unlike my 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4ghz controllers I have on my main PC and on the TV PC where I play with my kids. Easy to put the phone into and the spring tension holds well. No battery to worry about. Connects and fits with my phonecase on without any problem. Cons: No access to headphone jack. (Once again, I don't do Bluetooth, even for headphones.) Support for the back of the phone could be improved.* Doesn't seem to charge if the charge cable is plugged in when the controller has powered down. (It times out and shuts off if it is unused for a while. You have to press the button under the right stick and then plug in. After that it can sleep and it will keep charging.) Other thoughts and feedback: *My phone sits well with the correctly sized depth pads to make the connector fit correctly. However, I didn't like that it sat "deeper" on the right side than the left. The screen ended up tilted to be aiming slightly to the right side of my face. (Looking at it from the bottom of the controller the whole phone is tilted since the left side is held up by the usb connector but the pads on the right let it sit deeper in since there is nothing there to support it until it rests on the extending spring loaded back plate.) A solution I came up with was to use a piece of an old thin mousepad and some double sided tape to make a soft neoprene pad most of the length of the extending support to fill the void behind the phone. It would be better if on a new version they made the right side of the controller have more of a shelf on the right side for the top of the phone to sit on. This could be a built in customization option like the side pads on a future version by including three different thicknesses of rubber supports. While the position of the charge port doesn't bother me when I have played with a cable connected it really should be in the middle of the controller under the GAMESIR logo. My phone's buttons are on the right side which means they end up pointing down when docked into the controller. Moonlight always starts streaming landscape display upside down so I have to rotate the phone screen with the double arrow "rotate" button that appears next to the navigation buttons on Android. Not a huge deal but the buttons being on the bottom is a bit of a nuisance. I know it would add to the cost but a removable USB-C connector or left side/right side docking versions to choose from would be a nice touch. A USB-C DAC for headphones and a headphone jack should be built in. Adding more things hanging off is just not a great solution. All in all I am pleased. There is no way I am going to justify buying a Steam Deck for myself anytime soon. I am not gaming "on the go" just on the couch so I don't need everything to be able to roam with me. And I don't game intensely enough anymore to make it worth. For an hour or two in the evening on the couch to play some without having the large TV on this is a very good alternative with very few drawbacks for a really decent price.
