Very nice hitch. I had bought a Titan for our other Lexus GX but it was more expensive and arrived damage. This HiTow unit is solid and came well packaged with zero damage. Like it so much I might buy another one to replace the damaged Titan. It also makes a great anti-tailgater device. Haha.

My 1/2 ton truck is used for light duty jobs once in a blue moon. It mostly takes me to work and has towed only when owner #1 had possession of the truck. I purchased this device to mainly give my truck a little protection from aggressive drivers. The behavior of drivers has gotten worse each of the 25 years I have had my license. A few years ago a tailgater hit the rear bumper of one of my cars and pushed me into another. That car was totaled and it was a major hassle to deal wit the insurance company then purchase another car when I had no intention of changing vehicles for a long time. This thing will keep people away from your rear bumper. However, should someone still hit you from behind it will cut a hole in the front end of their vehicle (unless they have a solid steel ranch hand style bumper) and have their vehicle absorb the initial energy of the crash before they contact your rear bumper. To me this is a safety device above all. It discourages dangerous driving by others.

Over all this Hitch works AMAZING! Seems very well made! The black paint did come off ball after 1st time using and has surface rust. Would buy again if needed.

My dad was wanting one of these for his birthday and picked one out that was like 70 bucks at a haborfreeiiight, i of course checked amazon for a cheaper one and went with this brand. My dad was HIGHLY impressed by the quality of this hitch and couldn't believe it was only 30 bucks. he recommends!

Well, the trailer's 14K max, but it probably only weighed 10 or 11K wiht the loads I've towed recently. I use the 2-5/16" ball most. It's nice the hook is on the opposite side of that ball. I have other similar mounts where the hook is next to the 2-5/16" ball. So the hook sticks out the side instead of facing down. It just makes me feel a little lopsided. This one keeps my life in balance.
