Makita 198673-2 Guide Rail Adapter

This baseplate is great, it allows me to run my little makita masonry saw on a tracksaw track. This should fit most of the common tracks on the market (makita, festool, Milwaukee, wen, etc). I wish it had an anti tip feature to lock it onto the track, but that’s pretty minor. It’s easy to dial it in to eliminate play on the track. The baseplate works nicely off the track as well. I’m using it with a wen track, I bought the dust collection shroud for dry cutting and I’m even using it for cement board. Once you have it you’ll find uses you never even thought of.

Worked fine on Festool track, cutting porcelain tile. Clean & accurate cuts. Bad instructions, adjusting set screws to get accuratre cuts was difficult to figure out. Basically you have 4 points on the adapter to square it up (1 pivot & 3 set screws). I found it easiest just to snap the saw into adapter, place on the track & square it up to the track.

I bought it to adapt another saw to the makita track. The track has given me better clean straight cuts.

i have a bunch of 5/4 quartz and granite slabs to fabricate for tub enclose,top ledge,2 islands and counter tops.. mounting the makita saw on this was not easy. it was too tight,and after trying in vain i had to grind down some of the guide so saw would mount..

Even if I had to buy one every time I cut granite, it would be worth it. Fits on my Wen, Makita, Powertec Tracks and some built jigs. Makes cutting stone up super easy, consistent, and straight.

Great rail if you have the right saw.
