Amazing book
I’m crazy in that I buy pretty much every single book on Amazon that I can find on a topic, and honestly I’m happy that this was the first book that I received and read on pressure canning. There’s nothing at all wrong with prepping for emergencies, but I found this book extremely helpful and I love that Diane comes across like “a nice lady/mom” (no offense!) opposed to this being wrote in an end of the world tone. I’m actually shocked to see all of these reviews saying that this book is unsafe. It has so many sections throughout talking about safety! I’m still paranoid about food safety in that I’d never trust my girlfriend to do canning since she won’t spend the time to learn how to do it correctly, but this book literally helped me get over the fear of the dangers with canning (botulism) because it explains things so well! I haven’t read all of the reviews here, but I recall seeing a negative review on a canning book (not sure if it was this one) that was along the lines of, “Beware! This author has a recipe for pumpkin and that’s deadly according to the USDA!” It’s completely misleading. Yes, you surely don’t want to can an entire dense pumpkin! This book here literally explains how to do so safety. It tells you exact types of pumpkins to use and specifically how to process/chop it up into small cubes (plus the exact pressure and time required which is much longer than most other recipes) to make it safe.

Great for beginners and for expanding your recipe catalog!
I bought this book before buying a pressure canner. It has helpful info about which one to buy, supplies needed, basic knowledge. Then bought a pressure canner and use this book for majority of my canning now! • Walks through each step in each recipe, which was great as a beginner, and is helpful now so I don’t accidentally miss part of the canning process •Great basic recipes: ie, lists bean varieties and how long to cook and what to do if you have hard water •More advanced recipes, which use normal and common ingredients •Lots of meals in a jar recipes, talks how to adapt them to your needs •has lots of tips and advice, explains why certain things are done that way (ex: using clear jel vs. cornstarch) •Easy to read, looks nice, good size -wish it could sit open on counter easier -index can be confusing, have to know where to look for recipe (not always under the letter you’d guess)

Not a complete guide
Has really good recipes and information but definitely not a complete guide as there isnt really info on canning fruit so i have to buy a separate book for that i guess

Easy enough for beginners to use!
Pressure canning is new to me so I wanted to find a book with "normal" recipes that I knew we would eat if I canned. This book is just that. The recipes are simple and most are things that we grew up eating and are familiar with. The directions are easy to follow too!

This is a review for the DIANE DEVEREAUX - THE CANNING DIVA complete guide to pressure canning. The book arrived well packaged in paperback form; large pages with step-by-step directions on the proper way to can meats, vegetables and full meals.

Kochbuch für Glas und Dose. Ja genau dafür ist es aber bitte nicht mit dem Weckautomat der Weck kann vieles aber er schaft keine Sterilisation! Man benötigt einen Autoklaven oder Schnellkochtopf sowie die richtige Anleitung und die erhält man mit diesen Buch. Früher bekamm man alle diese Infos auch bei uns leider ist die Kunst des eindosen oder english canning vergessen worden dank der Zahlreichen Supermärkte. Hier in dem Buch bekommt man Anregungen und Rezepte.
