These lights work great but you need a clear glass fixture for them to work correctly.

This product is awesome. I have an outside light in my carport that if I’m leave it on, it bothers my neighbor. This is the perfect solution since it’s motion activated and therefore it only comes on when necessary. I’m so glad I discovered this product.

Great bulb. Had it it my closet so when opened the door the light came on. Came on everytime. Recently I tried putting the extra bulb I had in my outdoor porch light. Since the bulb is upright in the light fixture it doesn't catch my motion. Has to be facing downward. Motion sensor on tip of bulb.

I bought these lights because my kids and mother in law would constantly leave the stairway and hallway lights on. They can't seem to grasp the concept that I pay for electricity. So rather than continuing to yell at them and get upset, I looked for a lighting solution. I wanted something that would turn on when they walked near the light and would shut off after they left. So I purchased these lights and they work perfectly. I no longer have to yell at my family about turning off the light. It now shuts off automatically. The only issue now is that they actually shut off the light switch which stops this from working. If they were consistently doing that in the first place, I wouldn't need this great light bulb solution. lol Pros Bright led lights Easy to set up and install Cons Doesn't work well in outside fixture that may have glass around it. Manufacturer warned users about this. It does work, but not unless you get really close to the light. So I wouldn't recommend using this for any light fixture that is housed in glass.

Update: Just realized I bought this in May of 2021 and it’s now March of 2023 and it’s still going. I had to raise my 4 star review to 5. Even though for us it detects motion from a shorter distance , it’s been a huge convenience as it automatically lights up and we can get into our place safely and conveniently without having to reach for a light switch and also alerts us if someone is at the door as we can see the light through our kitchen window. I still have the unused second bulb in storage. Would definitely recommend this product. Older review: Bought this for our the front door of our apartment so we wouldn't have to turn the light off and on when taking our dog out at night, etc. Bought an adapter from Home Depot which fit perfectly. I double checked the measurements required before purchasing the adapter. Although it doesn't detect distant movement 8-10 feet away it does work for what we intended. It has turned on randomly a handful of times we think due to some neighbor motion but unsure. It stays on for a bit and turns off in a reasonable amount of time. Our kitchen window is right next to it and we walk back and forth and turn lights off and on and the motion detector does not react as others have said. We had to remove the glass cover that goes with the light in order for this bulb to work.

I really wanted to love these motion sensing light bulbs, but I should payed closer attention to the description. “Built-in Dusk to Dawn Sensor: This smart bulb will automatically switches ON at dusk when the motion sensor is activated and OFF at dawn.” What I didn’t realize is just how dark it must be before the light turns on. I have one installed on the front porch. I would like it to activate in the hour or two before the sun sets and maybe for an hour after sunrise when it still dark enough that a little extra light would be nice. The real problem is the other light is in my laundry room. When I am carrying a load of laundry I don’t want to set down the basket to turn on the light. The problem is the light coming in from the hall is bright enough that the laundry room light doesn’t come on day or night. I thought it was defective until I turned off the hall light. This motion sensing light just isn’t going to work for my needs. I am going to have to search for one that doesn’t include a dawn sensor. Update: I am increasing from 3 Stars to 4. I have been using these bulbs in the fixtures at my front and back doors. They are bright, reliable and always turn on when movement is present. My only complaint is that they stop coming on at dawn and dusk. I wish I had a way to adjust the sensitivity to ambient light.

Nice white light not too bright perfect for hall way

Neither bulb functions at all! I tried them in numerous fixtures over a four-night period, and they don't come on at all. I attempted to contact the seller to no avail. Of course, they don't even deserve a one-star review. My other motion detector LED bulbs worked fine in both my outdoor sockets for two years. It's not me, it's not the sockets, it's the bulbs. They take your money, and then they disappear. I refuse to give them any more of my time and energy.

This product is excellent

It works great, but for its motion detection to work, the object needs to be very close to it. It can only detect from just within a few feet (like 10 to 15 feet away). I even removed my lighting fixture cover and leave the bulb completely exposed.

Bought this 2 bulb pack for a closet. I left the cover off the light fixture so the bulb could sense movement and the first bulb worked great for 2 weeks. After that I could turn it on using the switch which allowed it to light for 30 sec then it timed out but wouldn't turn on when motion was present, no matter how hard I danced or how good my moves this light would not 'see' me. Second bulb didn't sense at all. Tried multiple lamps with same results. Pretty sure i installed them right At $45 for 2 it's a very expensive item and one would expect better quality and results. Seller was quick to approve return but I was required to pay shipping of over $17. Hopefully I get credit for that. Disappointed, loved it when it worked.

It worked as expected while it last. Each bulb died right after three months of usage.
