nice demagnetizer

I've been using an old Realistic brand button battery powered cassette demagnetizer and it has worked over the decades, so I have thought! While it helped making some of the clarity and treble come back, it did not entirely demagnetize the heads. I always clean the heads with Q-tips and alcohol and if that doesn't help, use the cassette demagnetizer. Well better, it still wasn't clear sounding and was missing treble. So I thought the heads were worn as my JVC TD-W318 is a 30 year old dual cassette deck but still much better than the Pyle and Teac/Tascam decks offered today. As a last ditch effort, I decided to use a wand demagnetizer as I have never used one. So either my heads were not getting fully demagnetized or my heads were permanently damaged from years of wear. Luckily it turns out that the heads weren't fully demagnetized and that Realistic cassette demagnetizer was failing to do it's job. I followed instructions and waved the wand demagnetizer across the head and slowly pulled away before unplugging. Then I tried some vintage cassette's I've had from the 80's and 90's and WOW, the cassette deck and tapes never sounded any better (except when they were new). I should had used this wand decades ago! I've been missing out of full range sound on my cassettes for a long time, to the point I retired them. After getting back into vintage formats and gear, I decided to try them out again but was disappointed UNTIL using this wand demagnetizer. What a difference. Yes, cassette tape sound quality doesn't match Vinyl records or Digital CDs, but NOW it is very good and worth the listen!

This really works! After using it on my reel deck and cassette deck, the difference is like night and day—the sound is noticeably cleaner and crisper. I'm genuinely impressed.

Haven't used it yet, I'm sure it will work but only 3 stars since it doesn't have a convenient momentary pushbutton on it.
