Simplicity is a win! Accuracy on swimming tracks is amazingly precise!

This is a great value, but I find it much less useful in the US market after they switched to the Mi Fitness app because it doesn't allow users to switch from metric to Imperial units. I really have no idea how much I weigh in kilograms and a weather forecast in Celsius means nothing to me.

Bought a new one on Amazon in September. The first impression: very inconvenient-the app has metric system only. In December the battery started dying in less than 1 day. Contacted Xiaomi global support, they don't have US support. Their response: "According to the details you provided, we couldn’t find any warranty status in our system. We would like to inform you that after-sales services shall be limited to the country or region of the original purchase. If you need technical support, repair or installation, please coordinate with your point of purchase." That's the end of my relations with Xiaomi, which lasted for ~ 7-8 years. Despite 1 month return policy Amazon agreed on return of the item. Thank you, Amazon!

I upgraded from the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 to the 9 Pro mainly for the analog-style watch faces. The square screen definitely makes them look better. After using it for a while, I found even more things to like. It looks more like a watch than a band, and the larger screen makes it easier to read information and swipe around. In terms of functionality, it is very similar to the regular Band 9. Some watch faces on the Pro let you tap on complications to open related features, which I find really useful. The built-in GPS is a nice bonus, but since I always carry my phone, it is not a major benefit for me. Battery life is also very similar. I easily get 14 days of use without always-on display, and Xiaomi’s claim of up to 21 days seems realistic if you turn off a few more features. The Pro also has some extra features like a compass and wrist gestures. The gestures are a bit tricky to use, but it is still a fun addition. Strangely, the Band 9 actually had more dynamic watch face options, which I did not expect. Overall, if you care about screen size and style, the 9 Pro is worth the extra cost. Otherwise, the regular Band 9 remains an excellent choice. Personally, I think of the 9 Pro as more of a “9 Plus” than a true Pro model. It is all about that larger screen for me.
