Such a useful addition to help me think less and do more
I have a few different Nanoleaf products in my home and one day when I was playing around in the app creating some new scenes, I started clicking around the app and noticed a section for “control groups” which said that you can connect lights with Sense+ switches together. I looked it up and for the price I decided to try it out, and honestly this switch has been a fantastic addition to my lighting system because it allows me to be more hands-free but still get what I want. First things first: Installation? What installation? The back of the switch holder comes with double-sided tape or two strong magnetic pads for a renter-friendly option, and the switch connects to the app very easily by scanning a little QR code on the back of it. Once you select which devices you want to connect the switch to, you get a quick tutorial on the basic functions and from there you get to customize what the side buttons do and you’re done. Two features I have really been enjoying are the motion and daylight sensors. The motion sensor has changed my morning routine - I can walk into my kitchen in the very early morning when it is still dark in my home and get a gentle, sunrise-y glow going while I am making my coffee without having to even care about where my phone is or press any buttons, it really helps me wake up in the morning. The daylight feature plays into this routine perfectly, because I don’t even have to think about turning my lights off to conserve energy during the day and turning everything back on at night, I just go about my day and Nanoleaf does the thinking for me. If you have a few Nanoleaf products in your home, I highly recommend purchasing the Sense+ switch. Such a little device makes such a big impact in allowing you to think less and do more!

Lacking compatibility, high hopes, bad results
I was hopeful for this switch to work with my other devices given its design, which is one of the only wireless motion sensor switches available out there. Out of the box it gave me problems even pairing directly in the Nanoleaf app, telling me to factory reset the switch and that maximum pairings have been reached, even though it’s never been paired with anything else before. After I waited several hours it finally decided to pair in the app, but at that point just sat there with no purpose since there’s no easy way to integrate it into other smart home systems, in my case home assistant. I was hoping to use this to control some lighting in my home, but instead I have no use for this since it lacks compatibility. The only reason I gave more than one star is the ease of installation and the amount of options you have in that regard, and it’s sized like a regular switch which is aesthetically pleasing. But if you plan on controlling non-nanoleaf devices, seek other options.

Nanoleaf has become a letdown
Nanoleaf has declined since its initial entry into the smart lighting scene. I bought my first Nanoleaf essentials bulb at the Apple Store shortly after release, and this remote can not be from the same company. Once the app finally let me set it up, there was a notable latency in the remote response time. I intended to use the remote to control an essentials light strip and two lamps. This did not pan out as I intended because there was a notable latency in the remotes control and all three devices did not react every time. This was especially apparent for the adaptive scene that changes color temperature based on the time of day. The three devices being controlled were never the same color. This was not an issue when controlled in the Nanoleaf app, so it leads me to think it’s the remotes inability to communicate with all three devices.

Sense+ Smart Light Switch for Nanoleaf Smart Lights
I understand this product is currently in "matter early access". As such, when connected to Apple Home, only two buttons can be configured (the two side buttons). Additionally, even through the nanoleaf app, you cannot assign lights to the buttons, rather you assign a group to the button (rather counter-intuative). That said, I do hope that, once this product exits matter early access, all buttons will be configurable through the home app, otherwise, this product *is* locked to the nanoleaf app thus defeating the purpose of implemening Matter. If nanoleaf is truly embracing Matter, consumers should not need the nanoleaf app at all. 10/28/2025 edit: The magnets on the switches are not very strong. If you use your hand to locate switch (in a dark room), you can very easily knock the switch out of wall panel. The plastic seems strong tho but I can't say how the devices handles impacts (a 3foot drop onto a cement floor). I do hope the magnet is addressed in the future.

a useful but flawed device.
Like most nanoleaf products, this thing is amazing... when it works. it turns on 5 different lights in my bedroom instantly which is awesome. The problems arise when it falls off homekit or one device becomes unresponsive or it just flat out stops working entirely and needs to be reset. I'm not a fan of the sense capabilities cus its rate that I want my lights to only be on when im moving by it.... the biggest problem is it's set to use sense by default and one of my devices always seems to get stuck in that mode even when I turn it off, currently one bulb turns on every time I walk in despite having all sense disabled. This is ridiculous... but I keep using the thing as its a good switch for urning the lights on an off normally...

Simple and convenient
Simple and convenient I was looking for a smart switch that wouldn’t break the bank, and the Nanoleaf Sense+ is exactly what I needed. It’s super easy to install and integrates seamlessly with my other smart devices. The app works well, and my wife loves being able to control the lights without needing to touch them. For the price, this switch gives you premium quality without the premium price tag
