Very good as an emergency stopper, surprised by material but not a problem they worked and quickly which is the main thing with nosebleeds. Also handy for helping bleeding stop on awkward parts of body like elbows or round a broken nail being so flexible.

My son suffered numerous and heavy nosebleeds during the space of two weeks this year. In the end, he had to have his nose cauterized. I came across this product after his cauterization and ordered it. The delivery was good and product arrived within two weeks. One morning he woke up with a nose bleed and I used this product. Yes it did stop the bleeding but I had to use two of them and still had to pinch his nose. This is the only product that I have come across that helps although I do think that it would not work so well for heavy nosebleeds. I now have two packs of these and as another reviewer has mentioned that especially in the case of children these help in lowering their anxiety as it does free up the hands. In my son's case as the bleeding subsided he could play the ps3 with his friends.

I suffer from HHT which causes me very severe nosebleeds. I was hoping as they are marketed at sufferers that they would be good. They did stem a medium level bleed but not a medium-fast bleed, that bled through in seconds. My problem with these is that they are very scratchy on the top an bottom end, to the point one did scratch my nose and make the bleeding worse. The advice is to twist or fold them before insertion, however I have small nostrils so they hung out massively and would not fit in when folded or twisted in a way which would fold the top over to prevent the fibres scratching. The major downfall however is that they claim to not stick inside your nose and advise you leave them in for 30 minutes. They stuck on the 3 attempts I could keep it in, one which was only left in 20 minutes stuck so badly i had to tear it out which caused a horrific bleed! I wouldn't use these again.

The product itself works very well but be aware that you will be clobbered with a large customs bill as Nasalcease is imported from the USA. This almost doubles the price.

I was a high school soccer coach for years, and we had players getting nose bleeds from head butts and similar plays (mostly unintentional, thank goodness), but that creates several problems: player can't be on the field while bleeding, blood can't be on the uniform, and it is particularly difficult to stop a nosebleed when players are sweaty and have been running for a half hour or more. After we lost one of our starters for most of the second half of a tight match, I asked all the athletic trainers and pharmacists in our area what we could get. I had seen something similar in the Army as a Combat Lifesaver, but I didn't know how to get it for my players. A local pharmacist knew about these and ordered them for me. I did some research, and they use an extract from algae that makes the blood gel, while helping close the wound in the nose. I have used them numerous time, and they have always been effective WHEN USED CORRECTLY. They do NOT stop blood flow immediately, as some believe. You have to roll the fiber very tightly, and it must be pushed up into the nose so it is right next to the injury (broken skin), then you should apply moderate pressure. In my experience, it takes about 2 minutes for the blood to gel and for the wound to close. If you did not position the pack correctly, it is possible to gel the blood but not close the wound. So, you will pull the pack and congealed blood out, but it will immediately start bleeding again. I had this happen once, with a middle school kid who fell and busted his nose during an exhibition match. He was a little guy, so I had trouble getting it tight enough, and he pulled away when we put it in his nose the first time. Fair warning: if someone is bleeding profusely and you do it right the first time, you may have a large amount of congealed blood that come out with the nasal cease pack. It is often bright red arterial blood, and it will look like a huge glob of bright red, bloody snot. That isn't pleasant, and it should be treated like any other bodily fluid, despite being congealed: bag it, mark it, dispose of in a biohazard waste container. If you aren't comfortable seeing blood, then this part may REALLY get to you (I've had players and at least one parent who were watching almost throw up). The upshot is that every time I've used it, players say that everything slides out easily, and they can breathe much better (sometimes even better than before the nosebleed). Also, if you are using this in a sports setting, this makes it easy to control the blood and keep it from getting all over them and their uniform. I've used it over a dozen times, and I can usually get players back on the field in 3-4 minutes, as long as they lean forward and don't get blood all over themselves on the way off! I also carry it in a small kit for my two young sons, who both wrestle. I firmly believe that anyone who is having trouble with these either isn't using them correctly, or they're trying to use them for nosebleeds that are so far back in the sinus cavity that these can't reach them.

Though I was skeptical of its efficacy. My nasal bleeds were excessive and it used to bleed for a long time, though I used to compress the nares and used to put in ice over the nose.But nasalcease really works for my possibly posterior nasal bleedings. It will definitely work for the anterior nasal bleeds.So highly recommended.

I was getting ramen with my weebo friends in Mountain View, and I felt it. It feels like my nose is all the sudden running; it feels a lot like 'the sniffles' when your eyes are watering and you are blinking away the tears... only with more volume. You see, there is something wrong with my nose, probably having to do with me having broken it at an early age. The doctor says it's not dangerous or anything, but my nose will, at random times, begin to hemorrhage like I'm the male lead of one of those cheesy anime cartoons, and I'm meeting the female lead for the first time. Real smooth, right? I tip my head back and touch my nose with my napkin. bright red. I grab a wad of paper napkins and excuse myself. It's a unisex, so of course there is a line. My male privilege can't help me here. By this point, my wad of napkins is soaked, and the blood is starting to run down my arm. I get to the bathroom, shove a wad of twisted napkins up my nose and clean up as best I can. The sink looks like I killed someone. I do my best to clean up the blood and head back to my table, being careful not to sneeze or move too fast. I don't even finish my extra spicy miso, out of fear that I'd blow the gasket. Something had to be done. I ordered some of these, and I've gone through five of them in the last three months; one in a social situation, where I was able to whip it out of my wallet, tear it open and cram it up my nose before anyone else saw blood. I mean, it was still pretty weird, but explaining to people that you have something wrong with your nose is way less embarrassing when you aren't bleeding all over the table, let me tell you. Now, my nosebleeds usually happen low in the nostril. Blood only comes out of one nostril (usually the right one) - So for me? twisting the product then folding it in half and shoving it up the nostril to the point where it isn't visible unless you are looking up my nose works best. I can usually manage this without getting any blood on my hands or face. I like this better than most of the other products because it is small enough to actually fit in my nostril; it's not hanging halfway out, but it's large enough (when folded in half) to fill that nostril and keep blood from spewing all over the place, a problem I have with the curad bloodstop product. I mean, the curad stuff stops the bleeding quickly, but not quickly enough to prevent blood getting all over my face. I also tried the BleedArrest Nosebleed Clotting Foam Strip - a similar problem. But the BleedArrest product, in my opinion, was superior for the few times when I get a nosebleed further up in the nose/sinuses. Just jam the goddamn thing all the way up, and while it doesn't form a 'plug' it will make the nosebleed stop quickly.

Excellent product to help stop nosebleeds quickly. Good value and peace of mind, particularly if you have any clotting disorder.
