Does surprisingly well. I needed something that was stealthy and low clearance. I am happy with the reception and transmission capabilities. Using it with a 20w mobile radio.

I bought this so I could swap back and forth between the MX25 & the MX26 depending on riding geography. Both seem to work equally well, but then I use the MX26 in forests & hills and the MX25 in more open country. I utilize the same base and ground plane for both (a 12x12 steel plate w/magnetic mount on a composite top). We will have to see how they hold up to the elements and off road use, so 4 stars for now, may go to 5 in the future.

We picked up the Midland MXTA25 3DB MicroMobile Compatible antenna knowing we’d lose a little distance compared to a larger antenna, but honestly, we couldn’t be happier. The sleek, low-profile design looks awesome on our setup and fits perfectly without drawing too much attention. Functionality has been great — it delivers clear communication for the distances we typically cover on the trails, and we love how it balances performance with a clean, compact style. Installation was quick and easy too. If you want something that looks sharp and works well without a giant antenna sticking up, this is a fantastic choice!

This is one awesome antenna. It’s mounted on a Midland NMO mag mount on the top of my car, and I recently tested it to a local repeater and had excellent transmission and reception at nearly 17 miles in less than favorable geographic conditions here in central NJ. The antenna is tuned for the repeater part of the GMRS band, 467 MHz, with an SWR at 5 W, showing 1.02 to 1 and at 15 W giving me a 1.29 to 1 SWR. At the 462 MHz part of the band the SWR is closer to 1.3 to 1.4 to 1.
