Great game
Always looking for that game everyone can play and is totally enjoyable yet challenging. This a great game for family or game-night with friends. Love the large size and the concept. The clues change when playing with family, we played with children as young as 9 year old, and we played with visiting adult friends; the clues given become more complicated. Its hilarious and had everyone laughing and requesting the game on later visits. Can't do better than that.

Simple Light-Hearted Competition for Various Quantities of People
We are seniors (50+) and have dinner and game night most every Friday night with friends. We like to end the night playing Codenames because it lightens the mood after playing other competitive games, and it's always so much fun; it gets us laughing non-stop. We typically play boys against girls. You learn a lot about how people think when playing this game! It is super easy to learn how to play and doesn't take long at all. We really like this extra-large version because it is easy to read the words from across the table. We also have Codenames Pictures and sometimes mix the words with the pictures to change things up. The cards are durable, and there is an ample supply provided to get a different combination each gameplay. The game is great to get you thinking outside of the box, and can be played with basically any number of people divided into two teams. NOTE: In the picture, the timer that comes with the game is at the corner of the box. We were using a kitchen timer that night so that we could hear the "bing" when time was up.

Great game, bigger than the original.
This is a great party game that provokes lively discussions. This version has larger cards than the original. I don’t think they are XXL. I think that they are just right.

Love a challenge
This game is great! Need to be strategic and is a lot of fun. I like the larger side of the game also as opposed to the smaller version.

XXL Codenames Great Game…Not So Great Price
Our family game night fun always includes a few games of Codenames. We love the game but the cards are a little hard to read when we have large teams of players. Well, now we have the XXL CODENAMES. WOW, what a difference. The cards are so much easier for everyone to see. If you play this game with friends or family you will love the XXL size, but you won’t love the price. Not sure why the larger game cost so much more. In our case, we have a lot of family game nights, so we decided to treat ourselves to this XXL size game and glad we did. 5 Stars minus 1 for price.

Great game, good version for groups
Codenames is an excellent board game to start with. I bought this version to be able to play with a bigger group, and it's perfect for it. I saw that others have complained about the cards being too big (or the text size on them too small), but it worked great for us. The cards are bigger than the normal version, making it easy to spread them out on the floor to play sitting in a circle. The font size is bigger than with normal Codenames cards, but I guess it could've been even bigger to cut down on wasted space? (In any case, it didn't bother me.)

I had the original bought for Christmas, and my in-laws loved it, but forever couldn’t read the cards when placed on the table. The cards here are 4 times the size, and very easy to read. Good for small kids, and old kids alike.

In Codenames, two teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right colour while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid the assassin. Ages 14 and up. 2-12 players.

An amazing addition for the board game pile! The XXL size is perfect for at home and will purchase the normal addition to play when travelling. It is that type of game that is enjoyable still after multiple times and although it is recommended for 4+ players, I think the game works really well with just two.

We played this up at a cottage with 6 adults and had a great time on a rainy day.
