I resurrected our Wii recently, and realized that the original battery packs we had were no longer able to hold a charge (over 13 years old... so time for a new set). This kit worked a charm to replace the old dead set, and has been keeping our wiimotes charged and going. They charge relative quickly, and also seem to discharge more quickly than I remember the previous set lasting, but they work. It's better than burning 2 AA every two weeks or so, and we're happy with that. They connect to the wiimote exactly how you think they would, and are a good option to save on wasting batteries. Will buy again when I need to.

This product works well for my official Nintendo Wii controllers. Compatibility with generic controllers is hit or miss, but that can be somewhat expected, and the generic controllers are probably as much to blame as this charger. With the official Nintendo controller, I was able to charge the battery then use the controller for a couple of hours without any issue. At the end of my gaming session, there was still plenty of battery life left. The reason for 4 stars is that you have to be sure you insert the controller just right for it to start charging. I sometimes put the controller in the charger and the light does not turn red to indicate charging. If I press on the controller the light changes to red, and typically maintains the connection to the charger after that. I will also say that I did run into some issues with the first unit I received. The seller was very responsive and resolved the issue quickly. Really good customer service.

Wii-motes eat through batteries like crazy. This thing is awesome. A bit of a stiff fit, but not an issue. Plug and play. The only challenge is sync-ing: the red sync button is very hard to reach (with a bent paper clip). So I usually sync with batteries in, then once synced, switch to the battery pack.
