Cute, petite, and I now have a lovely breakfast.
I don't know how it works, but it does an excellent job. My eggs are from my yard chickens, so they vary in size, but all of them were nicely hard-boiled and SO easy to peel. I'll end up going back to making deviled eggs now that I can't use "oh peeling them is awful" as an excuse. Love the cute colors, and it's decently small so it won't take up too much space is my gadget cabinet. Only con, and it's slight: this device requires you to pierce the fat end of the egg before hard-boiling. This causes some eggs to crack and no longer be usable. Also, because the inside of the egg is able to vent through the piercing, you will need to wipe down the basin after each use, as the trace sugar from the egg comes out with the vapor and burns along the basin. Very odd.

BEST THING EVERRRRRR
Okay this is dramatic but this thing changed my life. Boiling eggs is so much freaking easier!!!! I don’t have to wait for water to boil or wash dishes after, it’s compact and doesn’t take up much space, it came with easy to follow directions, and has gone through very many uses since I got it months ago and works just the same! Plus the shell peels SO EASILY since it’s steamed. Very durable and nifty. Highly recommend :)

It works great & it's cute
I love this little egg cooker. It's so small it's cute. It makes eggs anyway you want them with no fuss. It has more versatility than many larger models. I didn't think I could love an egg cooker but I do love this one and the price is right too.

Best Gadget I Own
I am not a gizmo buyer, but when I saw this and the raving reviews, I thought hmmmm. Fresh eggs generally do not peel well. I put fresh eggs in, cooked them, ice bath 10 minutes, and the shell basically slid off. No mess, and it is small so it doesn't take up much room. Time-saver, just turn on, leave it, and it has a cute chime when done. Winner!

Great little product! Hard-boiled eggs are no longer a challenge!
Bought this about two years ago because the egg-timer I had that actually sits in the boiling water with the eggs wasn't working as consistently as I had hoped. I saw this Dash Rapid egg Cooker and decided to give it a try. Love it! Mostly the eggs are cooked to satisfactory doneness, although occasionally a smidge under (but not grossly) or a tad over, but definitely cooked and edible. I found that using the 4+ level on the measuring cup for 6 eggs and filling it to just above that mark is enough water to cook the eggs to the required doneness. I've used the omelet feature a couple of times and it's okay, but mainly I use the DASH Rapid Egg Cooker for making hard-boiled eggs. My husband loves hard-boiled eggs so this was a great way to make sure he had his weekly quota. I would recommend this product! I've read other reviews where the purchaser said there's no way to store the trays and other paraphernalia, which is not exactly true. The trays (there are three; one for boiled eggs, one for scrambled, and a split tray for maybe omelets) fit conveniently inside the unit, with the stem and measuring/poking cup nestled in the split tray. I've not had any issues with them not fitting. And there is just one way to use the stem (I rarely use it, though) and it fits just one way, too. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out (and I am not a rocket scientist!). If I can figure it out, anyone else can, too. :-D Also, the poker under the measuring cup does well enough, although I will say it requires a bit of steady pressure to poke a hole in the top of the egg. This is necessary to allow the air inside to escape; otherwise your egg will explode! A trick I did to enhance peeling is to (very) gently rap the top of the egg with the back of a spoon to release the membrane inside. When you hear a snap, you've succeeded. It sounds like the egg cracked but it's only the membrane inside that's making the noise. After boiling, the egg shell should peel easily off. The DASH Rapid Egg Cooker does smell a bit at the end of cooking, but it helps if – after every use - you gently clean the heating surface (after it cools) with a wet paper towel, drying it thoroughly before putting it away. However, it will still develop a color, so its one flaw is that it does not clean up easily. Also, the tray with the six 'seats' for the eggs also gets somewhat dirty over time, so a good rinse is all you need to do after each use. The DASH Rapid Egg Cooker does not have an auto-shutoff feature, but it will let you know when it's done by playing a sweet little tune. It is loud and for good reason; you want to be able to hear it. You do not want this unit to continue cooking, so I appreciate the tone level a lot. That said, the company could probably improve this product by installing a shut-off. The only downside is if you rely on that rather than the end of cycle tune, your eggs might be more done than you want. For those of you who are sensitive to loud sounds, I would give consideration to other ways of boiling eggs. The drop-in silicone egg timer (the one that boils with the eggs) is a good solution, as long as you keep an eye on the color changes. I just had a tough time doing that so that's why I chose DASH Rapid Egg Cooker for boiling my eggs. Overall, I really like my Dash Rapid egg Cooker. It has simplified a task that for years had plagued me with overdone or underdone boiled eggs. Now I can with confidence supply my husband with his favorite breakfast treat! Four stars for satisfaction, one minus star for the unit not having a shut-off feature.

Simple, inexpensive Egg Cooker makes perfect soft-boiled/hardboiled eggs!!!!!
I love poached eggs but using 2 or 3 cups of water for 2 eggs and waiting for the water to boil was annoying, not to mention having to clean a teflon-free pan with egg glomming onto the sides.... until I found this little thing. I don't actually use the little plastic poaching pan that comes with this, I just stand them up on the grid and steam them. Then I do like the Brits do, whack off the top and either eat it right out of shell or spoon it on to a plate. Perfect every time! Uses a couple of tablespoons of water compared to a whole pan and cooks in about 5 minutes cutting my consumption of electricity and water! I And no cleaning egg residue out of the saucepan! I concede I'm not as handy as the Brits whacking off the top but bought an egg cracker that does the job quite well. And it would be a good idea to have at least one egg cup to hold the egg while you open it because it's VERY hot right out of the steamer and could be more than a little messy without the egg cup! It also does a great job hard boiling eggs too, also saving time and water. I've used this little gizmo 4 or 5 times a week for 2 1/2 years and it's still steaming away. The tray that heats the water needs to be wiped down pretty often as the steam/water removes the "bloom" from the eggshell and, combined with the chemicals in the water, can get a little crusty. However, that crusty stuff stays on the bottom and doesn't touch the egg inside the shell and comes off easily with a little soapy soak. I don't use a micro-wave and won't cook food in plastic, but since these eggs stay in the shell and nothing plastic touches the inner-egg it's about as pristine a process as I can make it, conserves energy, cuts the wait time considerably and makes perfect soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs! It's a genius little cooker! (I gave 7 to friends and family for Christmas! ) So simple and inexpensive!
