Not worth it
My betta is pretty big and swam right through it. Also it is difficult to work with and doesn’t fit so after struggling to cut it,and it doesn’t come with anything to attach it, it doesn’t even work . Boooooooooo

Lightweight Dividers
These divider racks are very lightweight and can be connected to each other in different configurations to fit your needs. When not in use, they can be detached and stacked to take up very little storage space. To re-attach them I recommend laying them flat on a table and pressing the pieces together to get them nice and flush. I have run into some issues with the connectors not always lining up, which I tried to show in the last photo with this review. Sometimes one connector will lock in and the next one won't line up correctly so there's no way to lock it in. When this happens, I turn pieces around and move them until they all fit together, which they do if you have just the right order and orientation but since all the pieces are virtually the same, it doesn't seem like this should be necessary. That said, these have worked well for me and have held up nicely so far. They can withstand a little weight and jostling around, if you're using them as floating shelving type dividers rather than upright as well.

Needs to be cut to fit a 10 gallon tank, male bettas CAN fit through!
I bought this to separate two male bettas in a 10 gallon tank. I ended up needing to cut several sections off, I think 3 squares off one piece, and then snapped that onto one of the other intact pieces. It *does* fit in the 10g with that size, however it is a tight squeeze and I ended up leaving it slightly bowed in the center because I was worried about possibly cracking my tank if I tried to force it to be evenly in the center. Using it like that in a 10 gallon tank would possibly work for temporarily separating medium sized fish, however my male bettas were able to swim through the squares with very little effort. I didn't think he would fit through at first, and my first boy stayed on his side during the first day he was in the tank. I was doing a test run to see if by the morning he would end up on the other side- he did not. I started acclimating my other boy to the other side, and within 5 seconds of starting to float the plastic cup I had boy 2 in, my first one swam through the squares of the divider and started trying to attack him through the plastic. I ended up taking some plastic mesh that was part of a kit for making a custom tank lid, and I wrapped it around the divider. I zip tied the mesh across the divider and secured it in over a dozen spots until I was sure it would stay in place. I have sand in the tank and the divider is buried in the center of it to help hold it in place. It has been several months and so far my boys have been safely kept apart. It doesn't look the best, and they can still see each other so they do flare at each other at times, but for the most part they do their own things. Having male bettas within sight of each other is not the best- however this was the result of unexpectedly obtaining these two as nearly lifeless boys that a local chain store was ready to flush (alive!) I was able to resuscitate and bring them back to health, meaning I am now the proud owner of these spicy little guys. This divider can work with modification- I hope this helps other betta owners!

Great for the purpose I bought it for
I didn't get this for the original intended purpose, but rather used them for sci-fi terrain for Dungeons & Dragons to replicate floor grating. Looks great and worked well! The connectors click together really easily, and you can undo them easily without worrying about the plastic breaking or fatiguing over time. Nice product, and large enough for what I needed!

This did not work as a tank separator. Flimsy not able to secure. My fish was able to get thru. Went right in the trash.

Pay attention to the hole size!
This seems like a decent tank divider. They clip together easily and look like they could be cut if needed to make them fit a tank better. I have a standard 10 gallon tank and two of these clipped together did not fit the tank without being slanted, so I will need to cut them to fit if I use them again in the future. Unfortunately for me, I did not pay close enough attention to the size of the holes before I ordered them and discovered that my young female betta fish can swim through the holes with ease. I have male bettas that look like they would NOT fit through the holes though, so maybe as my females get bigger, I can try them out again. No strange odors or issues with my water quality after I placed these in my tank.

Quality divider
Bottom line - would recommend Ordered this to be able to divide my 10 gallon aquarium, as my 2 adult dwarf mexican crayfish were fighting too much (and loosing limbs) and I was afraid one was going to be killed the next time it molted and was vulnerable. This product seems to be a durable, well crafted divider that is fairly rigid. The ability to interlock the pieces, or cut to size, makes it very customizable and 'user friendly'. The open design also allows the tank to maintain good circulation - certainly better than the acrylic or glass panes with just small holes drilled into it. One thing to note though is the size of the openings. While this is a benefit for circulation, it can be an issue if you have small fish, shrimp or juvenile crayfish, as they can easily go through this. So keep this in mind with ordering. Fortunately, my crayfish are just barely big enough that they cannot fit through...so for me it had worked well. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and would recommend it.
