These are Type C to Type C, which works in my new car whose USB ports are all of that size. They stow neatly, and are convenient to charge my phone. I separately bought Type C to Type A adapters, and they work with these cables for data transfer as well. Not made clear in the product description is that the cable locks in place when extended, and retracts when pulled a second time. I have had cheaper cable reels that always kept tension, making them very annoying to use, so this locking feature was really important to me, and enhances usability.

Pretty nifty product! Very convenient for space saving in the house, travel, and definitely in the car! They come in a pack of 3 which is perfect for our busy household. Re purchased after 1 year (almost to the day) because we liked them so much :) One year for a cheap charger is pretty good! Some minor issues: @ around a 9 months the one I use in the car, to and from, had a breakdown in the retractable mechanism and wouldn't stay open, still charges fine! The second had the plastic holding the larger USB end together pop off and I just so happend to be working with hot glue and had an easy fix. When I reordered, one of the three had the plastic pop off the same way. I messaged and they replaced within minutes :) Good product, great service from Amazon ♡ 10/10 will buy again!

It was great while it worked. The retrack has already quit working. So it keeps trying to pull the phone to the dash plug. Almost impossible to use as it really wants to go back to start. Won’t hold when cords are pulled out

These cables are great! After you have a retractable cable you'll never want to go back to a normal cable again. These cables work great for my wife's Moto X4. We put one in the car to charge while driving and it's been great. No more cord dangling around the car when it's not in use. She just retracts it and it only takes up about an inch of space. The same goes for charging with an external battery. The cord retracts out of view and you don't have to worry about it getting tangled or getting in the way. Best of all, it supports fast charge and can charge a Chromebook as well (albeit with a very slow charge. It charged mine 50% overnight, but it will do in a pinch since that's not it's intended purpose) I will definitely buy another set for myself when I get a phone with a USB-C charging port.
