Excellent, very impressed
I am now 4 weeks into using this product so feel far better placed to review it with evidence. I am well impressed. This is a very good product that works brilliantly well. On 3 occasions thus far it's detected a slight variance in the freezer temperature and on each occasion there was indeed an issue which allowed me to address the problem and save the loss of the freezer contents. My initial set up was incorrect as I'd used the wrong sensor connection so that was 100% user error but once corrected it has worked perfectly. I strongly recommend using a mains supply which is nothing more than a standard mobile phone charger / micro USB connector. On mains I set up for 15 minute updates as this frequency depletes the battery and it functions perfectly. This is Czech built product and I remain of the opinion the plastic build is very flimsy and not at all robust. My installation is intended to monitor an elderly relatives freezer. Assembly is simplicity as there are only 3 constituent parts - the main unit; the wired probe and the batteries and that's it. The accompanying software (downloaded from Apple Apps) is also as simple as it gets. The instructions are pictorial as opposed to written and are not complicated. I must however say the actual setting up of the device was a little cumbersome and took several efforts. Initially you instruct your iPhone which device its "looking for" then there's a bit of faffing about getting the device to recognise your WiFi using its own Smart4house WiFi software. Then you switch the App off and restart it and Hey Presto. Except there was no Hey and also Prestos were a bit thin on the ground!! Even after about 10 attempts it wouldn't link. I then relocated it right next to the BT Hub and started from scratch and suddenly both Hey and Presto appeared.

Works great once you get past the set up instructions.
The instruction manual provided isn't the greatest, so I had a couple of issues when setting this up. However once set up it works really well, and as far as I could find is the only WIFI temperature sensor in the market place.

Android support ended. Loyal customers out of pocket
Very effective for a time. But it seems that the company have discontinued android support this making it worthless if not an apple user

Five Stars
Works as expected. Basic app but seems reliable. Uses a tiny amount of bandwidth.

Good product - a nightmare to set up
Four stars only because the instructions are so poor and the device is a fiend to set up! Once set up, it seems to work fine. What it does is to take two measures of temperature - one in the device itself and the other on the end of a long wire for taking external temperatures. For me this is very useful and very few other devices can match this (when you look carefully at the advertising small print). As I said, setting up is a nightmare which took me at least ten attempts. What I can't see in the instructions is the importance of acknowledging the email sent to you by the company's server. Once I responded to their email everything worked fine.

Works as stated!
Great for remotely monitoring temperature so I don't have to run over to church to see if I need to turn on the heat in winter. It will let me know when the temp gets too low by sending a notice. Great stuff!

Overall a good device but with a few issues
The device monitors indoor and outdoor temperatures and sends the data to a cloud server. The user downloads a free app for a smartphone to allow initial setup of the device and then to monitor the temperatures ongoing. Alerts can be set for defined minimum and maximum temperatures. Because the data goes via a cloud server the data can be monitored from a smart phone anywhere so the user does not have to be on the same wifi network as the device. There is very little choice of devices on the market that can actually do this. I have no regrets buying this device and it is still working after over a year. My issues are firstly the price. At £82 I think it's expensive for the features it offers. Secondly the application can only retrieve and display the last 20 readings. This won't be a problem for most people that perhaps only want this device as a temperature alarm. For me I wanted to compare temperature graphs over a day or days. You need to understand how this works. The app gives the option of how often the unit sends the temperature readings to the cloud. It can be set between every 15 minutes to every 4 hours. So if you select an option of every 15 minutes then the app will only display the last 5 hours of data (20 readings). I've got mine set to send data every hour so I can look back almost a day (20 hours). I understand that setting the device to send data too frequently would soon drain the battery but I'm powering mine with a USB charger. It would also be nice if there was some way of exporting the data. As it stands you can only view the data using the app so if you wanted extended history you would have to take a screenshot of the data every day. Ideally I would have liked the software to allow readings to be taken up to every 5 minutes and for the software to be able to display perhaps up to the last 200 readings. That would make the device a lot more interesting and more worth the purchase price. Nearly every day there is at least one missed reading in the data flow. I've no way of knowing if this is a problem at my end or a problem at the server end. Mine's near a BT Mesh disc so signal level isn't an issue here. Also bear in mind that without the cloud server the thing is useless so if Smat4house go bust, hopefully not, then we might as well toss these devices into the bin. I'm going to give the device 4 stars. It would have got 5 stars if the software gave more options and could cater for more history. Sorry to be critical but I'm a bit disappointed that there's no development of the product.

Great Piece of Kit
This is perfect for what I wanted, which is keeping an eye on the freezer temperature, as well as the temperature of the garage itself. My only issue was that the setup didn't seem to be going right, as per the instructions, and it seemed to hang at one point. But when I rebooted the phone it all came right, and the setup could be completed without any further hitches. It has worked seamlessly since. I would recommend this product as it does the job and the price is right.
