Excellent Performance for Designers – Smooth, Compact & Efficient! I recently purchased the 2024 Mac Mini with the M4 chip (10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB Unified Memory, 256GB SSD), and it has been an absolute powerhouse for my design work. As a professional designer, I rely heavily on software like Figma and the Adobe Suite, and this machine handles them effortlessly. Performance & Workflow The M4 chip is incredibly efficient—there’s no lag, even when working on multiple high-resolution files or running demanding design applications. The 16GB Unified Memory ensures smooth multitasking, and I can seamlessly switch between Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator without any slowdowns. The 10-core GPU also provides excellent graphics rendering, making UI/UX design work fluid and responsive. Compact & Highly Portable One of the best things about the Mac Mini is its ultra-compact size and lightweight build. It barely takes up any desk space, making it ideal for a clean and clutter-free setup. Plus, it's highly portable—I can easily carry it along with my iPad and connect to it effortlessly whenever needed. Whether moving between workspaces or setting up in a new location, it's incredibly convenient compared to a traditional desktop. Connectivity & Setup I’ve connected the Mac Mini to my Lenovo monitor, and the setup was hassle-free. It supports high-resolution external displays with crisp visuals and accurate color reproduction—essential for design work. The variety of ports (Thunderbolt, USB-A, HDMI) makes it easy to connect peripherals without needing extra adapters. Storage Considerations While the 256GB SSD is incredibly fast, I’d recommend external storage if you work with large design files frequently. The built-in SSD speeds up file access and app loading times significantly. Just one complaint—the Amazon packaging that enclosed the product was extremely damaged and torn upon arrival.

Its Apple after all, quality is always top notch even if a bit pricey. I was a Windows user working with multiple monitors for software development work, and needed a machine that could connect to 3 monitors together. Came across Macbook and Mac Mini, and found that Mac Mini with the latest 2024 M4 chip costs almost half of Macbook with the same chip. Best software upgrade I've had in years! There is minimal heating after 8+ hours of daily use (bought a cooling pad to place it on, just to be safe) Every operation is lightning fast, be it IDEs, browser windows or developer tools. Android Studio works like a breeze. Video playback is smooth. The compact size makes it fit just about anywhere. In-built speakers have decent quality and loud enough volume for normal usage like watching tutorials / podcasts. Storage might be a bit of an issue for people with large data requirements, since after installing all the apps I require there is about 125Gb space (in this 256Gb model) left on the internal storage, but that can be easily extended with external 1-2Tb hard drives. Overall, do not overthink and go for it!

After a lot of consideration I decided to upgrade from my MacBook Pro 256GB 2019 model which uses Intel Processor to this Mac Mini M4 256GB and I must say this beautiful tiny machine exceeded my expectations in all the categories. 16 gigs of Unified memory with 10 core CPU and 10 core GPU does wonders, instantly I noticed that its pretty fast compared to my MacBook Pro and handles multiples tasks or apps in a fly. I am a professional editor and a software developer and I use Final Cut Pro and other editing softwares which demand heavy performance and this Mac mini makes it an easy task. After using it for 20 days straight, for min 8 hours each day my opinion is as follows: 1.Has all the necessary ports through which you can connect multiple devices, transferring data is quite fast, you have to have a hub to connect SD cards etc 2.Size is compact and boots up in 2-3 seconds 3.Added speaker is a huge advantage, the quality and volume is decent enough for normal daily usage like watching YouTube videos and movies in a quiet room 4.Front ports and a headphone jack makes our work much easier 5.Handles heavy apps and multiple browser tabs at the same time like a Pro-a multitasking King 6.The power button is located at bottom, many people complained about this , but for me it's not an issue the device is very light, can lift and press it easily 7.Even while rendering heavy edited videos, never noticed the fan turning on once! 8.No heating issues - the device stays cool all the time 9.Storage is decent, if you need more just get a reliable 2TB HDD(costs. 6K-7k) will update my review if any issues pop up. If you are someone who loves the apple ecosystem(or like stuck in it as some people say ;)) and looking for a great workflow with high performance - then have no second thoughts! For the price I paid - I am quite satisfied. Thanks

Worth every penny. Really amazing processing speed and very user friendly OS. I have recently shifted from Windows to Apple OS and it’s quite amazing to be honest. Very minimalistic design and its ecosystem is quite an interesting thing. My IPad, iPhone are interconnected and easily accessible from my Mac MINI. There are no usb ports to connect your keyboard and mouse, but you can buy C type to USB converter or an entire Bluetooth enabled keyboard. Logitech pebble keyboard and mouse combo is quite a good setup for the Mac MINI. Can support 4K at 60Hz and comes with HDR option too. And many customisable options for screen contrast and all. Must buy.

My Experience with the Mac Mini M4 as an Educator: I got a brand new Mac Mini M4 (base variant) for ₹40,000 (including GST) — about $451 — during the Great Indian Festival Sale in September 2025. Before this, I was using a mid-range PC I built in 2023 for around ₹35,000 ($395) with a Ryzen 5 5600G and 8 GB RAM. Over time, its speed noticeably declined even though I barely installed any apps. I mainly used it for browser-based work and light video editing. It was usable, but never snappy. Since I already had an iPad Air M2, I debated between the MacBook Air M4 and the Mac Mini M4. I’m glad I chose the Mini — I work from home full-time, so portability wasn’t a priority. For a while, I even considered building a Hackintosh with a GPU, but looking back, that would’ve been unreliable. I chose the Mac Mini purely for stability and reliability, and it has delivered perfectly. I already had most peripherals, though I did buy a Mac-compatible keyboard. I also use my iPad as a second display, and it works flawlessly through Sidecar. Performance and Experience: The Mac Mini M4 is a beast — especially coming from Windows, the jump in performance and app quality is massive. There’s a short learning curve, but within 3–4 days you’ll ZAP through your workflow. I haven’t faced a single app compatibility issue so far. The Wi-Fi speeds are excellent, though I mostly stay on Ethernet. The only minor drawback is the limited ports, so you’ll definitely want a USB hub or a few OTG adapters. I’m planning to upgrade the internal SSD to 2TB next year (a popular and safe mod). If you’re considering the Mac Mini M4, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Pair it with a decent monitor, and you’re all set. Reliable, powerful, and simply fun to use. The funny thing is my mother thinks that I have downgraded since the PC cabinet looked HUGE and the Mac Mini is tiny. She is not tech savy but I don't wanna explain here what we have here. lol!

It’s an awesome machine and perfect for a hybrid use case between professional and household tasks. 3 major points to be taken into consideration before you decide to buy it though. 1. It is a super value for money product provided that you already have a set of basic peripheral devices already with you. Otherwise you should add up a decent cost for at list a keyboard, mouse and a screen while considering the cost of Mac mini. 2. Buy the base variant only cause that is the only one value for money. And hence also consider cost of an external SSD. 3. It comes with all the usb C ports. So again you should go for a minimum of 5 in 1 dock or usb hub.

If anyone is looking to buy a desktop computer, Mac mini M4 is the model to go for. Comes with many years of software updates and excellent performance. Buying a monitor, keyboard and a mouse adds to the cost, but still worth buying. It is also important to note that the monitor should be 4K to get the best picture from the Mac mini. A good 4K monitor will be upwards of 22000 Rs. Logitech wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse will cost around 13000 Rs. Please keep these costs in mind too. Overall worth spending the money for years of trouble free experience.

Probably my best purchase of the year. Works out of the box. Extremely value for money for the specs provided. Size is small and compact and doesn't take up space on your desk. Super easy to use, and all peripherals and accessories work without much configuration. The sound from the inbuilt speakers are good, but a soundbar is recommended for any content-watching. There is no heat generated unless you perform heavy tasks like gaming (lol) or video editing.
