Remote Control Compatible with Arc, Arc SL, Beam (Gen 1), Beam (Gen 2), Ray, Amp (Gen 2), Playbase and Playbar (White)

In spite of its cost and some customer reviews stating that it doesn’t work for them, I bought this because I was tired of having to use the Sonos app to control the volume on my TV.For reference, I use a Sonos Beam (Gen 2), a Sub-Mini, and two older Play:1s (connected as a stereo pair) for surround sound in my living room. Because the Sub-Mini and the two Play:1s are linked (through the app) to the Beam, this remote controls all of these components simultaneously.Just follow the simple steps on the Sonos app to pair this remote to the Beam, and it works like a charm. For me, that’s as follows: • Open the Sonos app • Tap “System” • Tap “Living Room” (That’s where my Beam is.) • Scroll down and tap “Remote Control Setup” • Follow the steps • Voila.The remote is extremely basic. It only has three buttons. Mute (x), Sound Up (+), and Sound Down (-). Obviously, no explanation is needed.My Sonos Beam sits on top of my fireplace mantle, so I have to hold my arm up and point it at the Beam so the remote’s IR transmitter can interact with the Beam’s IR receiver, but that’s not a big deal. If yours isn’t sitting up higher than you, you probably won’t need to do that.All in all, I don’t regret the purchase. I still think it’s priced too high, but since Sonos doesn’t offer a remote control I’m glad to have this one.Good luck!

Bought this for my uncle and trying to pair it but does not correspond with each other. A bit to late too return. Paid $30 for something I cannot use

Only drawback is you must be directly in front of the Sonos playbar to manage the sound. That said, it still beats having to access the app on the phone every time you want to mute the sound.

Used the Sonos app on our phone to connect this remote control to our Sonos Playbar. Following the directions in the app, when the "Up Volume" button was pressed, the Genie remote connected to our Soundbar. The Genie remote control makes it easy to use our old Sonos Playbar (IR remote control) with our new Sony TV (RF remote control).

The remote works fine for adjusting the volume of my Sonos Playbase beneath our new LG C4 screen - something I can't enable the LG remote to do. Even if the LG factory remote performed volume and mute functions properly, in a darkened room, the tightly packed buttons are hard to see, and it is all too easy to push an adjacent one next to the mute and be taken to a menu where one is constantly asked to allow LG permission to track your viewing habits. A simple remote like this Genie is the answer. That said, I doubt it costs more than $2-3 max to build - the rest of the $35 is just to assuage your frustration. Three stars for function, but not value.

A bit pricey but works on all of my Sonos products. I didn’t have to set up either.

Tried it and nothing works with the Beam. Even called Sonos, no go

Bought a new Sony TV last summer, but our Sonos sound system is about 6 years old. Could not get the volume on the Sony remote to work with the Sonos as the Sonos is IR and the remote is BT. This little remote solved the problem. Now we have the remote for the TV and this little, simple remote for the Sonos volume. PROBLEM SOLVED.

My hubby is a not into technology and the App was a daunting prospect. This makes his life easy.

The advert on Amazon says that the controller is ready to use out of the box but it didn't. Possibly some adjustment to the Sonus Ray software is needed but as there are no instructions included with the controller, how would the buyer know?

Ausgepackt, wie in Amazon beschrieben soll es ja ohne Programmierung direkt losgehen , eh null Anleitung dabei , Batterie Schutzfolie gezogen und… : nichts passiert …frustriert , nach langem testen….musste doch noch in Sonos das IR und neue Fernbedienung aktivieren… 😜 geht jetzt , aber Reichweite sehr kurz , muss immer genau zielen ….

This little gadget is far better than fighting Elexa for the volume level, the increase in volume between programmes and advertisements is getting ridiculous, this control allows instant volume off, who want to listed to the adds anyway.
