Amazing Monitor
The Sony 4k monitor is incredible! It has a great design and is perfect for gaming lovers or someone who wants a high-end resolution screen. It has impressive specs and is surprisingly lightweight for its size. It is really easy to set up and the ports are plenty with ideal placement. There is everything included in the packaging to get up and running. I love the stand that is included with the screen. It is convenient and has a small footprint while allowing 360-degree rotation, height adjustment and tilt. It definitely makes the screen better to set up and use. The screen resolution and quality is incredible. The colours are rich and accurate, the contrast is deep and the peak brightness is top-notch. The visuals are stunning whether you are gaming or watching high-quality videos. The 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time deliver sharp visuals when gaming and there is absolutely no blur or latency issues at all. Added to this is the G-sync and adaptive that ensures there is no stutters or tearing at any point. It runs smoothly with no nasty surprises to interrupt. It has no in-built speakers which is surprising given the price range. However, this is no issue as I always use my own external speakers and headset. There is a 3.5mm headset jack and plenty of ports to use for Bluetooth adapters. This is the best monitor I have used so far without a doubt. It has a great balance of high-end features and performance hardware and comes with Sony's brand quality and reliability. It's absolutely worth it.

Worth Every Penny!
As a regular gamer who’s been using a basic monitor for years, I was more than ready to upgrade, and the Sony INZONE M9II 27" 4K Ultra HD monitor has absolutely blown me away. The 4K resolution alone was a massive step up — everything is so crisp and clear that I can actually catch tiny details I’d never noticed before. And the colour accuracy is on another level, it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 spectrum. The vibrant colors and HDR 600 brightness really bring games to life, I especially noticed the deeper blacks and brighter highlights. Dark scenes actually feel intense, and I feel fully immersed in the gameplay. The 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make fast-paced games feel incredibly smooth, with no motion blur or ghosting to throw me off. It’s made a big difference in how responsive the games feel, especially for shooters and action-heavy titles. Plus, the G-Sync and Adaptive Sync support mean no screen tearing, so everything looks flawless from start to finish. The only drawback is that there aren’t any built-in speakers. I wasn’t too surprised, but it’s worth mentioning since it meant plugging in my external speakers or using my headset. But with how amazing the visuals are, it’s a small inconvenience for such an immersive experience. The adjustable stand is a great bonus too, letting me position the screen exactly where I need it without hogging my desk space. All in all, if you’re serious about gaming and looking for an upgrade, the INZONE M9II is worth every penny. It’s changed how I play, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Fab picture
Really good quality gaming monitor the picture is beautiful with keeps up with no problems. It was really easy to set up which is great as I’m not super technical, and it’s light so easy to manoeuvre. I managed to use it with my Mac no problem although I had to resize everything when moving between screens I’m sure you could adjust but might lose definition It’s a really good gaming monitor captures so much detail and black blacks

(M9II) Not good value imo
I bought this monitor with the intention of replacing my work monitor with the benefit of also being good for gaming on my personal PC. Connecting to my Mac was not seamless, for some reason it would only connect to HDMI2 and not HDMI1. I tried with two different cables, a regular 4k cable that worked in HDMI 2 but compressed the image when HDR was enabled and a newer 2.1 cable that also only worked on HDMI 2 but did not compress the image when HDR was enabled due to the extra bandwidth the cable is able to carry. The picture quality is good but not amazing. Text and sharpness is great as expected on a high dpi 4k monitor and colours were fairly vivid. The downside with this monitor is that it is does not have a full mini-LED array and the LEDs it does have are quite large meaning if you view say white text on a dark background with local dimming enabled then you will see a big glow around the text as the leds are not small enough to only light up a small portion of the screen. It is better than a monitor that has no local dimming and I assume it works better with media content such as games and films however I did not end up testing this functionality. My feeling is that this monitor has no business being so expensive at the current price however given the limited LED technology. You can buy similarly priced OLED monitors including the M10S which is only a couple hundred pounds more however I did not want to go down the OLED route due to possible burn in when using primarily for work purposes. It is somewhat unique in its LED technology and there is a lack of comparable mini-LED monitors on the market however I still feel this does not justify the price even with Sony tax. As mentioned I assume and have read in other reviews that it does hold up better while gaming or watching film content however if that is your primary motivation for purpose I have to wonder why anyone would not just buy a similarly priced OLED and get the benefit of per pixel lighting. My main gripe though was that once set up on the stand the monitor did not sit straight! It was tilted down on one side by around 1cm which was unacceptable to me as it would drive me mad and is also something I do not think we should be seeing on a monitor at this price. The attachment point of the stand to the square plate also had some play in it which meant it could be pushed further in on one side, not by much but still not great in terms of quality. Ultimately I did not bother testing with games as I primarily bought as a work device and after trying it out ultimately decided to return. I imagine games would look fairly decent however as mentioned if that is your primary use case then I would go OLED personally.

Sony disappointed me!
HDR is not supported, ridiculous!!!! The stand is of low quality and not very stable. The speaker on the monitor is useless, even weaker than my laptop.

Matte bliss
Overall, a great monitor, but for the price of £900, you have better options. Very well packaged, lots of polystyrene padding and plastic coverings. Included in the box was: The monitor, base of stand, stand arm, a power brick, uk plug, eu plug, and a DisplayPort cable. No HDMI cable, which I was surprised about. Set up was relatively simple, lay the monitor down, attach the stand arm by clicking it in, no screw driver necessary, and then attach the stand base by lining it up and turning the little bolt with your fingers. Easy peasy. Plugging it in and attaching it to my Mac, all went pretty smoothly. It supports VRR on my M1 Mac over DisplayPort through a docking station at 4k resolution and up to 144hz, which is nice. Can also select the static options of 144hz, 120hz and down. Using the BetterDisplay app, I had hoped to use DDC control to directly adjust the brightness but this doesn’t seem to work at the moment. But the screen is recognised as DDC compatible, so hopefully that works after an update. Works well attached to the Mac, it auto sleeps when you sleep the Mac, and it auto wakes up too. It does have a weird graphical glitch when waking it up where the whites become blue, but it goes back to normal after a short moment or 3. I figured this might be fixed in software update, so I tried to update the monitor. I followed the instructions on the Sony support website, I have the .bin file on the root directory of a freshly formatted drive, I plug it in to the update port on the monitor, I select software update on the OSD and… No update file found. Weird. I try 4 different USB sticks, none work. I try formatting them as FAT32, EXFAT, NTFS - none work. Very annoying. Looks like I will be stuck on V003 software for a while. But onto the screen itself. It is nice, very nice. It isn’t OLED level. But it is up there in terms of the best IPS I have seen. It is outstandingly bright, but the relatively few local dimming zones do show through. Even playing with the local dimming settings of ‘Off’, ‘Low’ and ‘High’, it was always noticeable that there weren’t that many dimming zones. It is good, don’t get me wrong, the responsiveness of the dimming is lightning quick, Sony have the best local dimming algorithms out there, but it just looks a bit silly after using MiniLED and OLED screens. The matte finish on the display might be my favourite feature of the monitor. It is great. Reflections are a thing of the past. I love it. I don’t see any lack of sharpness or supposed fuzziness a matte finish is meant to be a trade off for. It is just a wonderful matte screen. Text is super easy to read, images pop, the display is gorgeous as long as it isn’t an overly dark image in a dark room. Because then the local dimming zones are visible. But on a typical bright day in light mode, this thing is great. The stand is also really great. It feels super stable, it can rotate 360º freely, and it can also tilt up a huge amount, apparently 25º tilt upwards and 5º downwards. Super easy to adjust the height as well, just lift it or lower it, it is great. And the footprint of the stand is really minimal. It is a 17cm circle, but it somehow feels even smaller. The stand on this is great, although the cable management being reduced to a purple elastic band is quite hilarious. The settings on the monitor are quite basic, but they are more than enough for most. You can adjust brightness, contrast, black point, all the stuff you would ever need. And if you intend to game on it, you can display a frame rate counter, a permanent crosshair, and even a timer for some reason. The speakers, well, they aren’t good. They are bad. But they work. Overall, very impressed with it, despite some issues. I will continue trying to update the monitor because apparently the update will solve a couple of my issues, but will have to figure out how to get that working. It is super sharp, super bright, and super understated in design. I love it. Would I pay £900 for it? No. I would buy an OLED for that price. But if you want a matte screen, and an IPS display, they don’t get much better than this. UPDATE: Have managed to update the monitor after much hassle. I had been using USB 3 memory sticks, and hard drives, and even SSDs. What worked, was an old USB 2.0 drive. Using that the update managed to finally work. But the coming back with blue instead of white does sometimes persist, though qucickly adjusting the refresh rate and back again fixes that. The BetterDisplay app DDC works after the software update! Can now adjust the brightness from the menu bar.
