Technivorm Moccamaster #4 White Paper Filters, 100-count per box

To say, I have a few coffee makers at my house is like to say there are a few grains of sand in the sea. But I spent many years waiting to buy the gold standard of brewed coffee, the Moccamaster. To that end, I wanted to make sure that the filters are reusing were of the same quality and reliability as the machine itself these filters do an excellent job of brewing, our coffee, something we spend a great amount of time and money on. We regularly buy premium coffees from around the country, focusing on third wave producers that are doing inventive and interesting things. These filters are simple, but fit perfectly, and provide us with the quality of brew we are looking for, the only thing to note is that you need to fold the seams in order for them to fit appropriately, but that’s part of the package. Thickness is just right. Highly recommend, have them on a subscribe and save.

Highly recommend you use these filters for your Technivorm Moccamaster or other coffee makers that use No 4 cone filters. The paper quality in this is exceptional and not too thick so it does not detract from the subtler notes of the coffee you buy. Pro tip for Moccamaster owners: before you brew your morning coffee, put the filter into the filter basket with no coffee first. Run a cycle with 4 cups of water through the coffeemaker. This prewets and flushes out the paper filter AND fully empties and flushes the water that has been sitting in your Moccamaster water reservoir. Then empty the pot with the now hot water BUT leave the wet filter in the basket and add your coffee to the filter basket. Then add fresh water to the coffee maker and start as normal. This whole process takes an extra 3 minutes at most and will increase the flavor of your coffee because 1) your filter is flushed out and ready for your coffee and 2) it flushes out the water in your Moccamaster water reservoir so that the water that is then actually used to make your coffee, is the fresh water you add after you pre-wet the filter using the 4 cup process.

These are the coffee filters that I like. While I do not have a Technovorm coffee maker, I trust this company to produce reliable and quality products. Certainly, others sell Melitta-style filter papers, but these help me make quality coffee.

Go ahead and buy the Moccamaster brand filters while you’re add it, and now you’ll also be better than the non-pod people who use generic. That’s because these are designed to be as pure as possible and not interfere with the taste of your coffee. And Amazon offers bulk, so they’re not even pricey!

I have owned dozens of drip makers and various types of coffee brewers. The Moccmaster auto pour-over systems is certainly a treat. The ease of brewing pour-over coffee while tasking other things makes the morning more efficient. Although, I will still say that my Chemex setup makes the best pour-over. With this said, the filters are durable and consistent. I have used 100s of these filters as we sometimes brew twice a day. They hold up and are well made. I will say, the fitment into the basket is not perfect, which is mind boggling as these are made specifically for Moccamaster machines. I have learned to deal with it and would not use knock-off versions. Highly recommend pre-rinsing your filter with filtered cold water to avoid any paper taste in your coffee.
