Overview The Zoom F1 Field Recorder with Shotgun Microphone combines a two-channel, F1 audio recorder with a directional SGH-6 shotgun microphone capsule to provide run-and-gun video makers with a flexible solution for capturing high-quality audio for video. Lightweight and with a low-profile design, it attaches to a camera using the included SMF-1 shockmount, which eliminates unwanted thumping sounds caused by vibrations when shooting on the move. The F1 is equipped with a stereo 1/8" mic/line input that delivers plug-in power to small microphones, and a proprietary 10-pin connector that is compatible with all Zoom microphone capsules. It records stereo audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz in BWF-compliant WAV or a variety of MP3 formats, directly to microSD or microSDHC cards. The unit offers a series of one-touch buttons that give you quick access to record level, limiter control, lo-cut filter, and volume output as well as an 1/8" stereo phone/line output jack with a dedicated volume control, and a monochromatic LCD display, which is easy to read even in bright sunlight. With Senal OLM-2 Lavalier Microphone is a high-performance professional lavalier microphone with a locking 1/8" connector for Sennheiser ew wireless transmitters. Save your money and buy takstar
I just cant believe the price difference between this mic and the takstar sgc-598 (i bought this one first), i was hoping for a much better audio improvement with this Zoom F1, being modular and having audio recorder, i thought "its pricey it must be better, right?" Wrong! The audio quality is better but just a little bit but the thing that made me angry the most was that this device has heavy interference with cellphone signal, i noticed one day the audio was having some glitches and i moved my phone away from my pocket (mic was installed on my video cam) and i couldnt believe it! Something else i noticed with the audio is when i have the voice filter active on my camera with zoom F1 plugged in and the audio sounds like muffled and picks up a lot of noise, compared to takstar using the voice filter on cam the sound is clear, noise is reduced by a good amount.If you just need a good shotgun mic for your videos, simple and effective, buy the takstar, right now the only use i found for this F1 is as a mic on my pc and using a heavy noise cancelling software to have cristal clear voice on voip apps.Update September 04/2021, after using the F1 with sgh-6 shotgun mic capsule for many months as a "decent" pc mic, the mic began having issues my voice was sounding very low and kinda like walkie talkie FX, after testing many things i noticed after detaching the shotgun mic capsule from the F1 for a few mins and plugging it again it began working fine but after 1~2 mins the issue reappears, i threw the sgh6 in the trash, im reselling this piece of crap F1 with lav and xyh-5 and buying a couple of takstar mics.

NOT A DUAL CHANNEL RECORDER!
As a documentary filmmaker I wanted this to be able to record the shotgun and lavalier channels simultaneously. If the shotgun is connected the input jack is disabled, so to use the lavalier you basically have to disconnect the shotgun from the unit. Saying this is a dual channel recorder is completely false advertisement as it really only records one input or the other. FILMMAKERS BEWARE!

The quality for the price
Work great. Very easy to use and the sound is good. I wasn't sure how the sound would be but I have been pleasantly surprised.

Make recording audio a bit easier. Specially when I can add another track with video
