I purchased this as my first 3D printer ever to learn the process of modeling and printing. I'm pleased that I chose this printer over other printers from different companies that I was initially considering. This printer supports a large print volume with great specs to allow for a wider range of materials aside from just standard hobbyist filaments that printers with lower max temps/heating can achieve. This printer can accomplish more than other printers can at effectively half the price. I feel that with this printer, I am able to gain the experience necessary to eventually transition into using more specialty materials without having the purchase a new model when I'm at that point. So far, this has proven to be a very solid printer. I have been impressed with the quality, strength, and level of detail that is achievable even with just standard PLA filament when using this printer. As a beginner, I appreciate that I was able to use this printer "as-is" when it first arrived with minimal set up required. I eventually had a hardware issue with this printer after some use. Once I reached out to QIDI, I was met with prompt responses from Alan with the support team who worked with me to eventually resolve the issue. I was provided with new hardware (chips, boards, etc.) free of charge and with fast shipping. They walked me through the process of fixing the issue, but honestly replacing these components was a breeze. At no point in this process did I feel lost thanks to Alan's guidance, the QIDI Wiki for troubleshooting, and the videos and images they provided to assist me. The large volume and placement of these components made swapping them easy despite being an enclosed system. The affordability of this printer with its superior specs and great technical support made this a great purchase for a user like me. I would highly recommend this printer.

This product is such a piece of junk. Its been a nightmare. Everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Always getting clogged. Even with right head and right temps for the filament. Always has feeding problems. Software buggy and has issues with everything. Won't detect filament. Error upon error. Its a trash product. DO NOT BUY THIS. I wish I could return it but I already got rid of the box. Do not buy this trash company because YOU are the product tester. I dont think they do any real quality control of components or of software.

I bought the printer for the size and heated chamber. The price was right too. Quite a few printers still don't have heated chambers, but QIDI has been putting it on most of their models which is great. I print a lot of ASA, so the heated chamber is a must for me, especially on large prints. The printer has been solid, and any issues I've had QIDI customer support was prompt to reply and get everything with the unit squared away, so if you hear they have great customer support, they do stand behind their equipment. They look to be increasing quality/capability with each generation, and listening to customer feedback. The MAX4 will most likely be the next horse in my stable.

I finally got around to setting this thing up. Not one thing seemed to work the way it should. maybe if qidi studio worked i would have been able to update, or if the usb instructions worked. but NOTHING went according to plan. so, 2 days of screwing around (it has thus far been 18 hrs), following qidi tech docs, I'm sitting here waiting another who knows how long, and decided to write this review. And obviously, NOT ONE PRINT EVEN STARTED! this has thus far been a nightmare. I'm pretty tolerant of setup and configuration. I'm pretty well versed in micro-controllers and software considerations.

Hard to beat this size/performance/value. Setup was very fast and easy. calibration process for Z offset and input shaping is very easy to do. Only thing i wish it had was an autotramming bed, but the bed has been reliable anyway even with the two locked Z screws. The chamber heat is nice, good for printing some engineering materials. I did replace the hotend with a high temp version. Support is good. During a very long print, the fan shroud did come dislodged for some reason. I contacted support and they sent me a new one quickly. No long term damage to the printer.

Did one print off the internal storage, then turned it on the next day and had multiple errors with the "MCU". 10 hours later, no info online and no fixes. I regret ever looking at this brand of 3D printers. Now I have to package all this junk up to send it back. Worst purchase ever!!!

QIDI Support is first class. It is truly remarkable for a company to support after sales customers to this extent. The turn around time is less than 24 hours and on a few occasions I was communicating in real time with their capable support team. My latest interaction with May was for a software issue. She stuck with me every step of the way to a successful conclusion. I truly can’t say enough good things about their customer support.
