I bought these in the 30-meter length for my son’s room, I was very skeptical at first as many rope lights in this category have poor reviews claiming they are dim, hard to install, and in general poor quality. However, my experience thus far has been the complete opposite and we both are thrilled with the outcome, they look very premium and are bright, but there are some things worth noting before buying. By looking at the product images, you may assume that these lights display a rainbow of colours simultaneously or ‘chase’ another with various effect. They do not. These are standard RGB lights, meaning the entire length of the rope displays one solid colour at a time. They can fade between colours, but they do not have “chasing effects”. I knew this before buying, but I wanted to make sure that others are aware too; if you are looking for lights which such effect make sure they have RGB+IC in their title. I have attached a couple of photos to this review comparing these new rope lights side-by-side with my previous LED lights I had up, and the difference is night and day. As you can see in my photos, my old LED strips looked very purple when set to white, which was awful when my son wanted to study or wanted a brighter atmosphere. These new rope lights produce a much cleaner, brighter white. If you stare directly at the rope itself, it is slightly cyan, but on the wall, it looks practically white, and that is normal for RGB strips as they are combining colours to get the white. When I first opened them out of the box, I was worried that they wouldn’t be bright enough. However, once they were up on the wall, they were surprisingly bright, significantly brighter than my previous set. You also cannot see the individual LED dots unless you stare directly at them. These are heavy-duty rope lights, not flimsy adhesive strips. Installing the 30 metres took me around 2-3 hours, so you need patience. They come with clips intended to be screwed into the wall. However, my walls are solid brick, and screwing them in would’ve taken forever. Instead, I used a hot glue gun to stick the plastic clips to the brick wall first, went all around the room, and then clipped the rope onto them. This worked perfectly. In hard to reach areas, like behind the desk I carefully glued the rope to the desk. They are flexible and handle corners well, but you must be careful. Don’t twist or crush them too much during installation, as this is likely why some people break them and how you have random segments changing colours as one of the RGB connections become loose. Other things to bear in mind is that the power plug does get a little warm, so just make sure you are not burying it under something, so keep it out in the open. The remote is Infared, so you need the controller to be out in the open so you can aim the remote at the little white box to control the lights. I would also keep these indoors, they are IP5 Water Resistant, not water proof, and at the price point, I wouldn’t expect these to survive repeated rain showers. In short, I’m really happy with these, they were relatively the same price as the previous LED strip set we had, but these were on sale, so an absolute bargain! If you have the patience for the installation, the end result is worth it. I’ll update my review in the future to see if they last, but so far so good.

would have liked it if the 30m was a full 30m not two 15m lights. overall, they are OK. these are bluetooth lights, wifi are better but so long as your phone is close enough, they lights turn on and off OK, may connect a smart plug to the setup, this way, I can use wifi to turn them on and off, hopefully remembering the last setting. for lights around the garden, they are OK, an array of colours to choose from as well. got them in the sales, £35, that price is worth it, would not pay full price for it.

I brought these after my kitchen led strip lights stopped working (the usb connector had been 'playing up' & I had to keep switching the plug socket on & off (a UK plug socket). Until yesterday, when the lights wouldn't switch on at all. However, these led strip lights are amazing. I love the different brightness of the lights, the different timer settings, that they change when I connect my music via bluetooth & that it has a UK plug (& not a usb connector). I had to cut about 20 cm off the end of the light strip, as it was 'just alittle too long'. I followed the advice (from the manufacturer) & cut where there's a small scissors sign, with no problems at all. I wish I'd brought these before my last one now & will definately buy again

Very narrow (only 6mm approx) and not very bright at all. Colours of light don't match the remote buttons at all either. Quite disappointed really.
