Solid alignment tool

Nice quality. I made an awl out of it.No rust after a couple years or so.

This is a fairly simple tool for lining up holes to make bolting (or, I suppose, riveting) parts together easier. If you are not familiar with it, imagine lining up two halves of a piece of machinery that needs bolts at each corner. If you have one corner of each side lined up using this or a similar tool, it would be easier to line up and fasten the other corners (then remove this tool and fasten that last corner). It is particularly handy if you are working alone.The tool works as expected. Again, this is not rocket science, but it does what it is supposed to do.

What can I say. It’s a piece of steel with the correct hardness so you don’t have to worry about chips flying off and hurting someone… Will buy a second one to have on hand incase I miss place this one.I don’t give 5 * nothing is perfect…
