Easy and effective
I had some aging ball latches on several doors in my house that were starting to get difficult to open and close. I replaced them with these magnetic latches; although they are a tad loud, I prefer them. It is easy to open and close the doors now, and the sound is a reassuring, audible reminder that the door is closed all the way. These were very easy to install and highly adjustable. After the first one, I realized I did not have to notch out the bottom magnet plate on the door. Because it is high, I never see it, and the space between the door and the jam is enough to accommodate the very late plate. I recommend these.

Works well after adjusting
These are working fine for some french doors we have. The magnets hold the doors fine after I messed around with the installation a bit. Seems much better than the old ball and catch thing we had that drove my wife crazy and never seemed to work right. I'm hoping these continue working well... don't see why anything should change as nothing really moves with it. One big tip - there are 2 ways to adjust how much it sticks out. You can adjust the magnet inside the brass colored cylinder (using a flat head screwdriver), and you can adjust the cylinder inside the black installation plate by turning or screwing it in. It doesn't come with any instructions, and at first, these weren't holding the door at all for me, but it was because I was only adjusting the cylinder in the black plate - the magnet inside was slightly recessed and wasn't touching the frame plate. After adjusting the magnet to stick out with a screwdriver - (the first one I did was very hard to turn but after taking it apart and figuring out how it worked, I was able to get it how I wanted it - the 2nd one turned easily) the magnet started making contact with the frame plate and held the door. These are definitely not silent for me - you can hear in the video. The magnet moves around a little bit in the cylinder and clicks when it connects to the frame plate. And as someone else commented, this means it does scratch the black frame plate. But no biggie for me - the old thing we had was all scratched up too, and was also much noisier - this thing sort of has a satisfying click to it. If you had a light door or cabinet, you might be able to use tape or felt to silence/protect it. But for it to hold the doors for me, the magnet had to make contact with the frame plate and then that friction was what held the door. One slight annoyance- I couldn't adjust the height of the magnet once it's installed. You have to take it back apart to adjust. So it was a little trial and error a few times for me to get it right.

Great but
These are magnetic and they work better than the ball kind as the ball kind keeps coming out. They do hold the door closed however, it will come open if there’s a draft.

Tonitrui Silent Ball Catch Experience
I received the Tonitrui Silent Ball Catch and began by taking a full inventory to confirm that all components were included—everything was present and accounted for. I removed the old ball-catch system and performed a fit check with the new Tonitrui parts. During this process, I noticed that the strike plate provided is slightly smaller than the existing one which does allow the old cutout to be visible requiring painting or caulking. This however was not a major issue, but installing the magnet plate did require modifying the door to allow it to sit flush. It’s worth noting that this door alteration requires a certain level of skill, as you’ll need a chisel, hammer, or a comparable tool to properly recess the plate. Once installed, the magnets must be fine-tuned so they align correctly with the top plate. After completing the installation and adjustments, I found that one of the magnets works exactly as intended—it catches cleanly and holds the door firmly. However, the second magnet does not grip with the same strength, almost as if it’s underpowered. I adjusted the alignment to create minimal clearance, nearly to the point of dragging, but it still does not hold as effectively as the first door. Overall, while the system installs cleanly with some additional effort, the inconsistency in magnet strength may affect performance depending on the door. I am giving the system 3-stars because the system is not a drop-in replacement and the magnet strength inconsistency.

Read The Reviews
I'm glad I read a bunch of the reviews or I would have returned these due to the loud click noise. There are two adjustments. Here's a tip: if you want them to be mostly silent, adjust the magnet with a flat head screwdriver first so it extends all the way out. When done, screw the magnet into the support plate and adjust with the supplied "U" shaped tool so it's as flush as possible to the metal striker without touching it. In some cases it will need to barely touch it if your door is heavy. You'll need to open and close the door a few times to be sure the door stays closed. Be sure the screws holding in the plates are tight and the plates are flat/flush. I had to use a wood drill bit to bore them out a few millimeters at top of the door after drilling the pilot holes. That's it! Works great!

Very easy install, works perfectly
I installed these to replace a set of worn out rollers for a set of french doors. The entire install was 5 minutes at most. I had one door that hung a bit lower for done reason and the adjustable magnet worked perfect. The only negative is the black paint on the catches scratches right off the first time you close the door. A-
