AC-DC step-down transformer from 240 volts to 12 volts 10 amps US-TRONIC

Great product and was as expected

I was looking forward to receiving this and I am quite happy with the heavy-duty case with plenty of ventilation and is also fanless for a silent operation. I wanted a high quality PSU and so I paid £59.90 with Prime next day delivery. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT OPEN THE UNIT UNLESS YOU ARE COMPETENT AT WORKING WITH DANGEROUS HIGH VOLTAGES WHICH COULD STILL BE PRESENT EVEN IF THE UNIT IS POWERED DOWN. I opened the case as I was curious to see what value for money I had got and found it contains a regular 12V-10A-120W PSU module (the type with the 7 screw terminals) which you can purchase a similar/same module from a well known online auction site for as little as £8.69 including postage direct from Shen Zhen, China! You are basically purchasing the 12V-10A-120W PSU module with the top cover removed (see photos) fitted into a steel case with illuminated power switch, connection terminals, fuse holder and a 1 metre mains power cord with a fitted 3 pin plug which to be fair is safer and convenient but the high price? I will be keeping mine as I urgently need it for a project and on the plus side if it ever breaks down in the future I would just be able to swap out the low-cost PSU module within as it is only connected via screw terminals so I have just bought this for the case basically.

had to return product as it did not match my requirements however it was a sturdy built item that no doubt would suit other applications in its range
