One of the Best Budget Sound Bars *Ever* !!
Given it's remarkably low price point, this Vizio astounds with it's top notch room filling immersive sound and Atmos performance. Is it on the level of Sonos or Bose or other high end models? Of course not, it's a Vizio that costs less than a nice night out. But, and I say this as an insufferable, pompous audiophile, I was nothing less than gobsmacked after setting this one up.... which is easy, although I recommend using a better quality HDMI cable than the one that comes in the box, by the level of quality sound. The bar itself along with the surround speakers and the Sub are well built, heavy and solid as bricks.. I could ramble for days about the almost perfect existence of this product (if only the surround speakers were truly wireless... they're not, they plug into the wireless subwoofer, which means dealing with wires and hiding them and trying not to have guests trip over them sending them flying out the nearest window, rolling into the pool and ending up sharing a rather vigorous weekend with the pool boy......🤣 But I digress. Just buy the darned thing.

Great product for the price.
I have a vizio tv. Super easy set up just plug in connect via Bluetooth mess with the settings and go. The subwoofer is amazing and shakes the house when up high enough can feel the vibration of it and love it. I like that the controls are on my smartphone so I will never lose the remote definitely great for the price.

Best value and sound in soundbars. Vizio is however very model specific.
I love this Soundbar’s sound, so much so that I replaced or acquired the same model for 4 other smart TV’s. For $159 for 5.1.2 it shreds a $2500 Sony 3.1. Works great with Sony, Samsung, and TCL, however with Pioneer, the TV often and unpredictably loses the sound bar and switches itself to internal TV speakers. It’s rarely used in the basement and mostly it’s the kids who don’t even notice the sound difference, so I haven’t had the inclination to debug it. The subwoofer makes the windows shake. The super long cables for the rear speakers plug into the subwoofer and are literally magnets for the robot vac’s that prowl the house. I swear they are programmed to always engage any wire or cable in sight. I find them doggedly trying to get around whatever obstacle I’ve put in place to stop them attacking the wires. Packaging was well constructed with thick cardboard and ensured a dent and ding free delivery. Setup was intuitive and relatively painless. I am still wondering what the HDMI Out does on a soundbar? I connected it to one of the only 3 HDMI In’s ports on the TV, but when I select it, nothing happens. No Signal. At the very least they should have a banner landing page and a GUI interface to the soundbar’s controls. When we got a new TV, I mistakenly thought I had found the best brand and Holy Grail of Soundbars, and bought a pricier Vizio with 225W that came with NO HDMI Out port and NO remote, only a QR Code link to download the remote app. It’s got nowhere near as crisp trebles or smooth base that this model features. If Vizio had a “Suggestions” box, I would recommend that they add a cheap but useful webpage interface to configure the devices. Functionality similar to routerlogin.net, if you’ve ever configured a Verizon home WiFi network away from it’s default settings.

A decent upgrade to your Tv's sound
I think that for the price this is a very good soundbar. The surround sound is great and makes you feel like you are in the movie or show you are watching (as long as they mixed it right). It's okay for music, it didn't blow me away but does a fine job. As for the Atmos it's not going to make it sound like you are in a movie theater, but it is great at getting about 80% of the way there, if it had a little more height to the sound it would be a lot closer. Overall I would buy this again

Everything is awful
What an absolute piece of trash. Bought this to pair with a Vizio TV. The TV speakers are abysmal. Constantly cutting out. Anything above a whimper strains the system to its limit. So I bought the speaker. Synergy and all that. Paired it up once. It never turned back on. The green light is ever present. The thing won’t go away no matter how many times I unplug it. HDMI arc connection? They gave me the cord in the box. Doesn’t mean a thing. The TV recognizes the Bar. It doesn’t mean it will sync. Need to do a hard restart? The mongoloids on the customer service chat suggested I press a sequence of buttons. None of the buttons respond. The lights never change. It’s always green. The thing is like a ghost of Gatsby. Maybe I’d try the remote. That could help me navigate the system. Not included in the package. Just use the app. The app doesn’t recognize the thing. And when it does, it just freezes. And then after an hour of trouble shooting my customer service rep just cut the line. Try to reconnect? God no. Walmart bought Vizio and now I have to register and sync my account if I wish to see the end of my forsaken chat log. I did it anyway. Signed away my rights and privacy to the lords of commerce. Just to get back to that chat so I could leave a sinister reply in the survey. But as things go, no luck. So I came here. To vent. To scream in the void

Excellent system at reasonable price!! Visio good!
Really nice!! Sounds great in my family room - plenty of low end from this small subwoofer. I’m impressed - especially for the price! I have another Visio sound bar in my office and it also sounds excellent but that size room: I think I trust Visio sound bars!! The rear speakers connect to the subwoofer using included wires that are RCA plugs. Good thing I had speaker wires already run to those locations so I just sliced the RCA ends. Sub and sound bar each need their own AC outlet then they connect via Bluetooth. HDMI (included) connect to the. HDMI ARC output on my TV. Definitely recommend!

Sounds pretty good...after tuning
The out of the box sound of this isn't super great. Highs and lows are almost non existent. Setting the EQ to direct and turning on TruVolume via the app gets it 90% of the way to sounding good. Then adjusting the various other sliders for your specific room should do the rest. If the sound was half decent out of the box, this would be 5 stars. The out of the box sound is truly terrible though. Having to set up an account for the app is annoying, but being able to use an app to tune everything is a much better experience compared to fighting through menus or worse, deciphering led blinks on the sound bar (the solution some other sound bars use). Setup is easy, and the mix of wired and wireless is nice (no cable running to the back of the room, but also no hunting down for separate outlets for the speakers). No pairing was required, which was nice. There don't seem to be any drop outs either, even in the dense area I'm in. I do wish there was an additional input option, other than HDMI (like some sort of toslink/optical) as I don't really have free HDMI ports, but for the price one port is acceptable. It does mean there isn't any input fiddling which is nice I guess. Overall, good value for the price, after some tuning. Update: After using this for a while, I've encountered a few other issues I wanted to note here. First, some content causes the sound bar to get quiet randomly. It seems to happen the most with YouTube videos that have periods of absolute, bit perfect silence between someone talking and less frequently with games that have chiptune music. I believe the sound bar is changing modes (like switching from Dolby to PCM or similar) due to the quiet audio, then taking a moment to switch back when audio resumes, however I can't say for sure. This has happened with multiple different TVs and source devices. Second, the wireless sub will occasionally (as in once every several months) disconnect from the sound bar. Unplugging both and reconnecting them fixes it 95% of the time, and manually reconnecting them fixes it the other 5%. Both of these issue have lost this an extra star from when I first reviewed it.

Pleasantly surprised
I honestly was worried that I’d spend $200 and not like the sound quality. I have sophisticated ears and can be picky about speakers. But in this price range, I don’t doubt these are the best. Everything is crystal clear, the soundbar really does sound like 3 different speakers (left, right and center). I’ve experienced zero distortion (and the first thing I did was put on Man of Steel to hear it deal with intense music and a lot of action), and I’m surprised at the difference it immediately made. Once you dial it in to your taste, it’s exactly like being at the movies. And no more dialog being super quiet while music and action are super loud. It’s easy to setup, comes with everything you need right in the box. I have little side tables on each side of my couch, so the satellite speakers sit in line with the back of the sofa, the subwoofer is on the bottom shelf of the left side table. My apartment living room isn’t big, the TV is about 8 feet away with the soundbar underneath. Once I turned it all on and put the app on my phone it immediately connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth, and this is how you change settings and adjust EQ and balance. A lot of people complain about this, but I like it. I like being able to have more than a button on a remote, I like the visual representation of what I’m adjusting. Once you’re happy with the balance and EQ, your TV remote should adjust volume (at least mine does, connected via HDMI ARC). So you won’t have to use the app every time. The speakers have weight to them, even the small satellite speakers. They don’t feel cheap, even though they’re made of hard plastic with fabric over the fronts. The power cables could be a little longer (they’re standard size, 3’ or 4’), but the speaker cables from the woofer to the satellites are very long. It’s cool they included little Velcro cable ties, so you only need to unravel what you need and it stays organized. Literally my only complaint is having to create a Vizio account in the app to control this system. Love the app, hate junk emails.
