These are so cool. I’ve been baking/cooking for 40+ years and I’ve never heard of this type of rice paper until this past Christmas. I wanted to make authentic Siera Panforte and the recipe calls for these. Panforte is super sticky so the sheets are placed in the bottom of the pan before the batter, then on top of it. (I learned in the process to cut the paper to fit the cake without overlapping at all) After it sets, the rice paper seems to disappear and become part of the cake, giving it a smooth & nonsticky surface with absolutely no added flavor. The recipe also calls for powdered sugar to be sprinkled over the rice paper. This step is just to make it pretty. It doesn’t actually need it when the rice paper serves its purpose well. The package comes with way more than I’ll ever use to make panforte so I’m hoping I’ll find some other fun recipes to use it with.

I got these rice papers for baking - nougat is very sticky and difficult to cut and store unless it has rice papers underneath and on top of the slab. These were sturdy enough to allow for easy storage and thin enough to not compromise the chewiness of the nougat. It is just a very nice texture and doesn‘t have much flavor, so the nougat was great.

I’m sure they are as described however, it did not work for what I was trying to do. I used one sheet and will probably throw the rest of the pack away because they just were not as thick as I thought they would be.

Quite good to use when making the Italian Torrone candy log.

I ordered the wrong kind of rice paper. It worked, but it didn’t work that good. My girls in Kansas are going to try to make food like they were meant to have that. it worked on the cake perfectly but getting the colors on it didn’t work that well and that was my fault
