Almost perfect headphones!
I am really loving the Sony Ult Wear but there are some things that would have made them perfect, though I guess they would have also made them more expensive. Pros: - Sound quality is amazing! Specially the bass. I really like some powerful bass and these headphones deliver. - The app works great. - They are very confortable and light. - Battery lasts forever. - The clarity in sound is pretty good, I can hear every single instrument when listening to music. - Makes watching movies and listening to music more immersive. - Transparency mode is awesome! Just put your hand on the right ear cup, the volume will lower automatically and the transparency mode is activated, to go back to the previous mode, just remove the hand, VERY convenient. - ULT 2 is just insane! - Transparency mode sounds very natural. Now the cons: - They feel a bit plasticky though they are well built. If it wasn't for the great sound quality I'd say they're a cheap pair of headphones. - The noise canceling, although good, is not the best. I have cheaper headphones that do better with voices and annoying announcements on airports and planes (these just seem to let them through). - The sound quality out of the box feels a bit muffled, you need the app and tweak the EQ a bit to really get the best sound quality. - The mic is one of the worst I've ever tried, it's really bad specially in noisy environments. In quiet environments it seems to be okayish. If you plan to use them a lot for videocalls, this is not it. If you like that cinema like sound when watching movies these headphones are amazing!

My experience on the headphones
At first I thought they was not so good but you need to adjust settings. If you like a clear sound quality and amazing bass vibration, I highly recommend this product. The sound quality is amazing but the microphone is average. There’s 3 modes, normal, ambience (you can hear the real world sounds through the music or calls etc) Noise cancelling (completely blocks out any sound aside from the music). I had to go on Spotify settings to increase the sound volume so that the songs can be a lot louder and in iPhone settings you can also increase the max amount of volume output. (I watched a YouTube video on how to do it) and after maxing out the volume. I was happy with how loud the headphones are. If you don’t tweak the sounds then you won’t be able to enjoy the headphones enough. Custom sound settings you can customise and switch between with 1 button. There’s ULT 1 and ULT 2. Which I customised personally with how much base I want. Overrall I really enjoy the product, amazing battery life, amazing at functionality once it’s tweaked. Very comfortable and sits on your head and ears unlike other brands and it’s a very good value for money.

excellent noise cancelling, and reliable performance, these headphones are a great choice
The Sony ULT WEAR headphones are absolutely fantastic! The ULT POWER SOUND delivers deep, punchy bass that’s powerful without overwhelming the mids and highs. The audio quality is rich, clear, and immersive, making music, movies, and podcasts a real pleasure. Noise cancelling works extremely well, especially with the same processor used in the WH-1000XM5, blocking out distractions and letting you focus on what you’re listening to. Call quality is crystal clear, and the battery life easily lasts all day and more — 30 hours is no exaggeration. They’re comfortable to wear for long periods, pair seamlessly with both iOS and Android, and feel premium and well-built. If you’re looking for strong bass, excellent noise cancelling, and reliable performance, these headphones are a great choice. Highly recommended! 🎧

Fantastic headphones, but they need a lil fix
I got allot of headphones, can't get enough. Bought these on a deal and they are great! Quality is great, although they are a bit flimsy on the head strap. No breaks yet, but I can see that being the weak point if they had one. The equaliser it has as standard is terrible, I love bass, but this is muddy bass. BUT top tip, install an app called Wavelet on your phone. Use the auto balancing on them. You don't even need to use your phone for the audio as they can link to multiple devices at the same time. You just need your phone close and it just does it all in the background. Drops a star as they are amazing quality speakers, they just need to be tweaked to get the most out of them Connectivity is great, link to my iPad, PC, phone etc etc. Battery will last you all day, full blast. Touch control etc are great, Sony do have a nice touch with quality like that. My colour was black, so yes, they are black. Happy purchase, especially in a sale. Got far more expensive ones, half the quality. Would t use these for studio, music work as bass heavy. But for actual music enjoyment perfect after the fix.

Best midrange headphone
Overall these are a great pair of headphones for £99 available for even lesser (£80) on ebay. At that price these are really good. I bought these to replace a pair of XM3s that my toddler broke. Those were excellent and lasted me 6 years. I superglued it and managed to keep it working but not something I can travel with hence I was looking for a new pair. Comfort: These were almost as comfortable as the xm3 with deeper holes and more space for the ears but the pads are stiffer than the xm3 and the clamping slightly stronger maybe because theyre new. But overall a very comfortable pair with the xm3 edging it only slightly. Materials: the materials are decent they dont feel as premium as the xm3 but not bad at all. Matt finish plastic and they dont creak like my xm3s did. Features : Theyre newer so more features than the xm3 like auto pause play. Multipoint connection. etc. ANC:Very good overall but the xm3s were slightly better. Sound quality: Highly subjective topic but to my ears the xm3s are much better. Mainly the sound is just richer and fuller overall. Also after tuning it using the eq i can get better bass from the xm3 than the ULT despite fiddling with the eq even with the ULT mode enabled. I dont know why but even at lower volumes with my tuning the xm3s bass really slaps i feel the rumble on my ears. I dont with the ULT wear surprisingly... These were meant to be bass forward and yes they are... You do have loads of bass but its not as tight and rumbly as the xm3. Also at the same volume the xm3s sound louder i need to drive the ult at nearly full volume to get the same effect. Another issue was i could hear it slightly louder in the left side than the right and no way for me to adjust the balance. This doesn't seem to happen with my xm3s. The sound stage on the ult is better through its wider but vocals are clear and every3is rounded. But not as smooth and clear as the xm3. On its own most people will love what comes out of the ULT but since i had the privilege of listening to this side by side, back to back with the xm3 listening to the same song the shortcomings of the ult became more obvious. This unfortunately ended up being the deal breaker for me as i kept reaching for my broken xm3s despite buying new headphones... They simply sounded more energetic and fun. So i decided to return these. I was considering getting the xm4 instead as they're similar to the xm3 and still available for £178 but in the end decided to try something different and bought sennheiser momentum 4s for double the price of the ult as ANC and sound quality are my top priority. Lets see if thats better once i have had enough time to test it. If not il return that and get the xm4 as i expect they will perform similar to the xm3. Really Sony should update the xm4 give it some new features and sell it for £200 what a great pair they got a lot of stuff right with those. They didn't need to change much frankly. Overall good for the price. Probably the best mid range headphones. If you don't compare side by side you will be happy with it.

GET THESE HEADPHONES IF YOU LOVE SOUND LOL XD
Got these a week or so back and they are one of the best purchases I have made. The sound of my music is crisp, clear and the bass is perfect for my heavier taste in music. They are also great for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, orchestral music, ambient noise tracks and honestly everything else. Definitely very versatile for lots of different kinds of sounds. I haven't got to use the microphone for anything major yet so I can't say much on the quality but it does work with my phone's Google Assistant really well and definitely responds much more consistently with the commands which is definitely very cool and convenient. The noise canceling feature is honestly really weird if you haven't used it before like me because it cuts out so much noise. It was kind of an interesting experience and was honestly super cool when I finally got used to the effect. When I have been out in a super busy place and there are noises everywhere, the noise canceling is super effective and everything is made super quiet in comparison to when I am not wearing the headphones. I am mildly autistic so that is something important to me. I must say though, if you are in a location where it might be a little quieter and you would usually hear individual voices, you can still hear them a little bit with the noise canceling on but they are rendered into a quiet whisper which I personally quite like too. With music on, you are in a completely different world and the noise canceling just makes the music the sole thing you can hear, even in the busiest of places. There is also a feature to hear your surroundings whilst still wearing the headphones. The feature actually amplifies the sound just a little bit extra so you can still listen to music and have a conversation or listen to something without having to take the headphones off. This really is great for quiet places that you want to fill with a little sound like a little cafe, a library or a museum. The feature does have a limit to the sound level it can pass through so for autistic me, that’s amazing to know in case I accidentally turn them on while the feature is still active. The fit is really comfortable too, even for my slightly larger head which has made buying headphones a pain in the past. With my autism too, the fit of the headphones can make or break my opinion of them, even if the sound is pretty good. They are not heavy at all and they don’t feel awkward on my head or ears which is something I have definitely struggled with before with other brands. They sit really well and don't shift about or move at all once they are on and adjusted correctly. It's honestly super satisfying to finally have a set of headphones that I can wear for hours and not have a headache or sore spots afterwards. The battery life is unbelievably long for what I expected. They advertise 30 hours of battery life and I was sceptical of the claim as other brands and models have underperformed with their claimed battery life but I've frequently got way over the 30 hours that are claimed. I've used them almost everyday since I got them and for hours on end and they have been super reliable and consistent with how long I can use them before having to even consider charging them. There is also a quick check feature on how much charge the headphones have and I am always shocked to hear that I have way more charge left than I expect. I am quite clumsy so I have been worried that I’d damage them really quickly but they haven't got a mark on them yet, even after dropping them a couple times already. They definitely feel super robust and sturdy and they don't feel like they are going to break anytime soon. I truly have to praise them for being able to tolerate my ability to break or damage stuff within hours or days of having them. Pricewise, I thought it wasn’t going to be worth it because I usually go for cheaper brands and models but these caught my eye and I thought I might give them a try out and I am not disappointed with the quality of these headphones I got. They are truly phenomenal and well worth the price. 10/10 - Would highly recommend them to everyone.

There Is No Such Thing As Too Much Bass.....
....is what my brother and I used to say growing up going to blues and dances halls. Bass at blues and dance halls in East London we would expect the speakers to rearrange our internal organs. We would expect the speakers to be vibrating with bass before so low we could not hear it. Well, the Sony Ult Wear speakers have too much bass. For the first time ever for a pair of headphones I have said 'That Is Too Much Bass'. I have Soundcore Liberty 4 NC's (x4) and the Sony Ult Wears are better. I have the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro's and the Sony Ult Wears are better. I have the Soundcore Space One and the Sony Ult Wears are better. I have the Soundcore Space One Pro and the Sony Ult Wears are better. I have the Beats Studio Pros and the Sony Ult Wears are much better. I have the Beats Studio 3 (X2) and the Sony Ult Wears are better. I have the Beats Studio 2 (X5) and they are on the same level as the Sony Ult Wears. The Sony Ult Wears don't just produce a lot of bass. They do bring forward the mids and treble after tinkering with the many EQ settings, LDAC, DSEE, Clear Bass, etc. It takes time setting up the sweet spot. My test tunes come out as they should on the Sony Ult Wears. Unravel by Bjork is delivered perfectly with the vocals and bass reproduced perfectly. Resolution of the Godzilla Minus One Soundtrack builds in volume and complexity and reaches a majestic crescendo towards the end. It's Happening Again by Agnes Obel mellifluous and haunting and delivered perfectly. A new (old) test tune of mine is My Heart WIll Go On by Celine Dion in CD quality and LDAC - when she sings 'You're Here' at the 3:25 mark your headphones or sound systems needs to be able to reproduce that so that it cleans the earwax out of you ears - and the Sony Ult Wears do just that and are almost painful if I play it too loud - no distortion - just Celine at her cheesiest best. Venus As A Boy - bass and vocals balanced and soulful. Traitor by Olivia Rodrigo - vocals are perfectly produced when tuned correctly. On the Nature Of Daylight on the Arrival Soundtrack is a hard piece to reproduce properly - it has a rumbling bass line that is deep in the background that lesser speakers I have fail to produce at all - I presume the frequency is too low for those devices but with the Sony Ult Wears it is there as it should be. I have tried the ULT1 and ULT2 settings and most of the time the ULT1 setting is just about right. But depending on what I am playing it is too much bass so I have to dial it back. The bass does not distort it just gets thumping and loud and uncomfortable - as it should be if I want it to. These are headphones for bass lovers.. Audiophiles will most likely prefer the constrained and restricted sound of say the Beats Studio Pros or Airpod Max's. Well, I don't as these so called high end headphones are far too narrow and dull for me. I like, my headphones to be able to produce controlled extreme bass and treble and this is what the Sony Ult Wears and my other favourite headphones do. I like to be in control of it and not have it controlled for me by the manufacturer. I got the Sony Ult Wears with a big discount of £98.10 here at Amazon using a 10% discount voucher on an already discounted price. An absolute bargain. The first set I ordered I did not get as the courier must have stolen them - he said that he delivered them to a resident at my house at a time when I was not in and my 2 CCTV cameras had nothing for the time he said he delivered them - I hope Amazon fire that thief. So I got a refund that very same day and ordered again but changed the destination to the local post office and I got them the second time. Great service from Amazon - just need to employ some more trust worthy couriers... The Sony Ult Wears are comfortable to wear. I have had them on for a few hours now and it's like they are not there. The ANC is quite brilliant as I cannot hear anything in my office with my various computers whirring in the background. One thing that is new to me is the touch controls on the right hand ear pad. These do work for me though I did get it stuck with Google Assistant reading through my notifications which I had to wait for it to finish for about 90 seconds before my music started playing again. But doing the volume and moving backwards and forwards in the tracks and pausing and playing work. One thing that I had to disable was the Adaptive Sound Control as it was adjusting the sound as I was walking about trying to figure out what environment I was in. I'll come back to this again when I get more used to the app which is quite comprehensive. I tested the transparency mode by putting the palm of hand over the right earcup and the voice of my other half was totally natural. It did not sound processed at all - it sounded like the headphones were not there at all. I had to figure out how to get it in LDAC mode as there is not a setting in the app for it as far as I can tell. I had to change it in my Bluetooth settings. Not everybody will know how to do this so it should be made clearer. But as this is the first time I am using this Sony app for headphones it might just be me. I have not had them long enough to test the battery life but it seems to be o.k. 10% of battery usage after about 90 minutes. So the Sony Ult Wears are on a par with my trusty Beats Studio 2.0's. This means that they are equal best headphones I have ever owned. So what I will do is buy a few more Sony Ult Wears in the different colours in the next few months in future sales so that I can use each one sparingly and have them lasting a decade at least - this is what I am doing with my Beats Studio 2.0's which all work fine after nearly 9 years. So I am in it for the long run with the Sony Ult Wears. Bravo, Sony. Bravo. Update 07/01 Had my ULT wears for a little while now and it is sounding looser and less tight as the drivers are run in which is great. Battery life is at 59% from when I first charged it so looks good in the long term as I am using LDAC codec and ANC all the time. Bass is still too fierce. Also, I tried the 3.5mm audio jack from my old Sony NW-A45 and was surprised at the sound quality using this method. On all of my other Bluetooth headphones connecting this way usually results in below par and quiet sound quality but not with the ULT Wears. Update 25/02. Bought the Grey and Black versions today at a discounted price of £118 each and am running them in to loosen up the drivers so that they sound exactly like my Off White pair. All going good so far. I think I prefer the look of the black ones the most. So between the 3 of them I reckon I'll get at least 9/10 years out of them. Update 03/03 Couple of useful tips. 1) Use the Safe Listening activity in the Sound Connect App to make sure you don't damage your hearing. What it does it takes how loud you have listen to stuff over a week to see whether you are causing long term damage to your hearing. Some of the SoundCore headphones I have have something similar but this is a much better implementation. 2) When raising or lowering the volume using the touchpad on the right headphone swipe up from the middle and hold your finger in position to keep on raising the volume and release when you get to the desired volume. Swipe down to reduce volume and hold to keep reducing - thought I'd mention this as a YouTube reviewer of the Sony Ult Wears complained that he had to swipe up and down many times to raise or reduce the volume - no need - just hold. And the instructions on how to do this are not exactly clear on the Sony website.

Music to my ears
Brought these for my wife as they seemed excellent price. She absolutely loves them, likes the colour, loves the sound, and as for the noise cancellation, she is blown away. Battery life is comparable to a different pair of Sony's that i have so we don't have to worry if going on a long flight etc. Also come with a nice sturdy case to keep everything safe and sound, although the headphones seem pretty sturdy themselves anyway.
