Best litter box EVER!
First off, I have 6 cats..4 Siamese (3 male, 1 female), a neurotic Havana Brown rescue boy, and a mad Siamese cross (bossy female), I'll tell you, it's taken some experimentation to get their toileting just right! After a couple of years of using pine pellets (horse bedding), we changed. The horse pellets were very cheap, and you just put around two cups down. I would remove the solids and flush them, then, when the pellets started to crumble, I would change the trays out, adding the pee-infused pine powder to my compost heap. I have only ever used covered trays and the cats have never known anything else. 18 months ago, one of my male meezers started weeing inappropriately. Medically, he had minor urinary tract issues, which were resolved with Tinkle Tonic and extra, syringed water. BUT he still peed in corners, up the wall (definitely marking behavior), and it was driving us crazy. I kept our boxes spotlessly clean but it made no difference. So.. I decided to forgo the compost benefits and we tried different litters. He stopped peeing outside the box almost immediately! However, two of the boxes we had, which had locating tabs either side of the box, at the join, were leaking through the seam (a problem when you have one cat that stands up to wee!). Also, when you tried to lift the box with the hndle, the top came apart from the bottom so it was definitely time for a change! BTW, the scented litters are a no-no! I developed a skin rash AND respiratory issues whenever I made contact with the darned stuff. We tried the REALLY expensive stuff Dr Elsey's Cat Attract but it didn't clump that well, and worked no better than the "dirt" cheap stuff we now use. "Peerless" Pets Scoopable Cat Litter" which comes in 14lb jugs for $4.00 from Big Lots. It clumps wonderfully and seems to be a natural deodoriser. With 6 cats, there is only a little tracking. We have now replaced ALL the old boxes with these large boxes from Van Ness. We HAD tried the Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box from Amazon, but I have now dumped it after only 5 months as it stinks the place up, even after scrubbing. The boy who pees standing up. He hasn't been able to pee over the top of the entrance of this Van Ness box yet! I find that the super-smooth finish wipes down wonderfully but, whatever you do, don't use any abrasive scrubbers or cleaners. For cleaning and deodorising, I have an old "wipes" container that I 1/2-fill with water, then add 2.5 ml of pure Thyme oil. I shake it up and then push in around 30 of the "cloth-like" kitchen towels.. you know, the ones that tear in two pieces? I do that before dropping them in. I give the container a good shake, and, hey presto, an eco- and kitty-friendly cleaning wipe that is really cheap if you buy your Thyme Oil in 250 ml bottles like I do :^) BY the way, I DID remove the cat-flaps on these, as always, as my cats refuse to use them, and bliss.. zero odor, no inappropriate peeing.. life is good :^)

Great Value
Easy to assemble, extra large size is perfect for cats of all sizes. Enclosure keeps litter from going all over the floor as well as keeping orders down. Easy to remove the lid to clean inside.

Almost Purrfect
This cat litter box checks all the boxes - the perfect size and height for my 17lb Bombay cat. It's easy to clean - simply remove the lid. It's sturdy enough, and the overall design couldn't be any better. The latches to secure the lid are sometimes broken. I've now purchased 4 of these cat boxes and two had one dysfunctional latch. The one i just received - the right rear latch is completely broken off. Due to a current medical condition, I'm not able to exchange/return it. Even so, other than the latch, the pricing, design and overall quality of the cat box makes it perfect for my cat. The vet recommends replacing the cat box entirely every 3 to 6 months and this price point makes that possible.

Mr. McGregor's Loo Review: A Rabbit's Regal Take on the Giant Enclosed Cat Pan
Dear esteemed members of the whiskered community, Today, I, Mr. McGregor, venture beyond the realm of my usual escapades to discuss a rather peculiar discovery - the Van Ness Pets Odor Control Extra Large, Giant Enclosed Cat Pan with Odor Door, Hooded. Yes, you read that right. It seems my human, in a moment of creative madness, decided that what works for the feline might just suit the leporid. At first glance, one might question the suitability of such an apparatus for a creature of my refined stature. However, I must hop to its defense and say, it's quite the luxurious lavatory. The grandeur of its size! It's like a palace for poop, a mansion for micturition. I can hop in, do a little twirl, and still have room to ponder the mysteries of the universe. The "Odor Control" feature is no mere boast. It's as if my contributions to the pan are whisked away to an alternate dimension where smells are banished. The Odor Door, though designed for those of a more feline persuasion, serves as a splendid privacy screen for a gentleman such as myself. And the hood! Ah, the hood. It's like having my own private chamber where I can conduct my business away from the prying eyes of the world. It's the sort of discretion one appreciates in these modern times. However, I must express a slight reservation. The entry, designed for creatures of a more agile nature, presents a bit of a hurdle for a dignified hopper like me. A more rabbit-friendly entrance would be a welcome improvement. In conclusion, while the Van Ness Pets Giant Enclosed Cat Pan may seem an unconventional choice for a rabbit, I find it to be a rather splendid adaptation. It offers privacy, odor control, and the sort of spacious elegance that a rabbit of my standing deserves. With a twitch of the nose and a flick of the tail, Mr. McGregor

Latches are Flimsy: Be careful or you'll dump kitty litter everwhere!
The enclosure is spacious, and having walls around it, keeps litter in and not all over the floor.. However, adding a sifter inside for easier cleaning would be perfect. HOWEVER, the big issue with this unit is that the latches are flimsy and come undone very easliy. I'm writing this review because I just replaced kitty litter in it, connected the latches securely and double-checked them. Lifted the handle and the latches came loose and dumped fresh litter everywhere. As you know. that stuff ain't cheap! Thank you! Steve

I’m obsessed! Trained my baby to go through the flap, she just needed to learn how to push and that it wouldn’t trap her in! Now scents are mostly contained. A good looking litter box, I can’t stop admiring how nice it is! High sides so that if you don’t leave the top on, will still contain everything if kicked. Not super spacious but fits perfectly in a corner. And as for the 2% making it imperfect, the bottom right corner of my flap did overlap and needed to be cut and filed down, but it’s a simple fix for a perfect litter box. Saw that some reviewers came with missing parts or cracked in transit but mine came perfectly. Very happy with this!

This is a large blue litter box. While I never checked the product against the dimensions listed, I assume they would match. I bought it as my cat got older and was on a higher wet food diet so peeing more, as the larger box kept the litter overall cleaner for longer. It does take a bit more than half of the large bag of clay litter to reach a good depth, and with litter in it, the clips aren’t strong enough to move the box with the handle, but that’s a lot to expect of a tiny plastic handle and 4 clips.

The product is very flimsy not sturdy. The flap door keeps falling off. Not worth.

Dies ist ein super großes Katzenklo und meine Maine Coon lieben es. Da die Unterwanne sehr hoch ist, wird auch ohne Tür nichts rausgescharrt. Sogar mit meinem potentzen Kater und den markieren. SUPER
