Waxed Amaryllis Bulb - Green - Easy Care - No Watering Needed! Beautiful Live Holiday Décor!

I have bought multiple bulbs and most were great. One stinker appears alive & yet it lost several leaves & never bloomed. The company never responded to me & Amazon did not help. I will plant it in soil and wait to see. You can assume that some bulbs may be fine, but don’t expect much when you get non-bloomer.

I’ve grown amaryllis bulbs in soil for years and have almost always had beautiful results. I was intrigued by the idea of the amaryllis just growing on its own sitting on my kitchen island in a waxed shell. It could be that too many blooms erupted at same time competing for limited bulb energy. The first two buds looked promising, but then the new shoot came up and all three withered and died. I cut them off and a third shoot came up, but it’s very thin and has been in same state for about three weeks now. I keep it out of the direct sunlight, so possibly that’s delaying bloom, but I doubt it. That’s never happened before. It’s very difficult to fail at growing amaryllis, I’ve had old plants in the garage or basement that bloom on their own, no water, limited sunlight, no care at all! This experience has me thinking the wax dipped bulb is a fad and to stick with locally bought bulbs planted in soil for consistently beautiful plants.

Updated Review: I have had the bulb for a full 8 weeks. The stocks went from having brown tips to now limp and mostly brown. It did not bloom. Amazon does not allow returns/replacements, reached out to company, never received a response. Incredibly poor customer service. Terribly disappointed. Original review on May 25, 2025: I have had the bulb for 6 weeks now. It hasn’t grown much and the tips of the stocks are turning brown. Amazon says no refunds, I messaged the company but never received a response. It’s incredibly disappointing.

This waxed bulb was purchased on May 24, 2024. On May 11, 2024, I purchased another White Amaryllis waxed bulb for my daughter in law. Her plant is doing no better than mine is. As you can see by the picture, what growth there was, has turned brown. In 3 month's time, this is as much as my plant has grown -- no flowers at all. Before I purchased these White Amaryllis bulbs, I had purchased 5 Red Amaryllis waxed bulbs as gifts and they did beautifully. They bloomed in a couple of weeks. I sent an email along with this picture to the company that sold these bulbs. I asked them why the difference in the red amaryllis and the white amaryllis. So far, I have not received a reply from this company. All I can say to you is if want to buy the waxed amaryllis bulbs, do so, BUT, I would buy the red ones _ DEFINITELY NOT THE WHITE ONES. Carolyn
