For a low cost pool meter this works really well. I ordered it because I wanted a way to easily test the PH level and salt level in the pool and it works great. I have the strips too, but this is easier to use and gives me a digital readout of the PH and salt levels instead of having to guess at the colors on the strip. Great product, especially for the price.

I have been going through it trying to find an even SOMEWHAT reliable ph tester. I have so many different types of strips, and also a different brand of one of these meters (we'll call it brand X for the sake of this review). I can't even tell you how much faster, and therefore more reliable, the ORAPXI is than than brand X. (As a sidenote, prior to buying this one, I had bought even a third brand, but that one was doa). Anyway, with the "brand X" meter, the numbers move sooooo slowly, and go up and down and up and down. At times I would know for a fact that the reading was wrong, so I would dunk it a few more times and the number would continue to change. This could happen multiple times just trying to get the ph for one batch (and this is with regular calibration). With the ORAPXI meter, you put it in and it settles on the value quickly and surely. Now I use this one, and then the older one just to confirm it (brand X does eventually decide on a value, so using it as a secondary is fine, but I would never trust it as my primary), and the ORAPXI meter has been accurate every single time. I have also tested it with calibration solution, and again... accurate. Another amazing thing with the ORAPXI, is that I haven't even had to calibrate this meter yet, and I've used it on 4 separate days now over a 6 week period. I'm actually going to buy one of these as a gift for a friend who has no meter at all, because I feel absolutely confident that it's the only meter she will need. I never thought I'd see the day! Now I'm just waiting for the price to go back to where it was when I bought mine 6 weeks ago. Thanks for reading my review.

This tester works well but I didn’t like that you have to calibrate it to use it for the ph levels. At least they include a pouch of solution to do that with. It seems to be accurate with testing the salt.

Very handy gauge. My salt pool control started giving me faulty levels. Unfortunately, I over compensated and didn't know it until I bought this item. Also, very handy for knowing your PH level. Now, I always double check with this device.

I now have two of these testers and they give quite different reading for both temperature and salt concentration. I contacted customer service but never reset a response

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This lasted a week before completely mis firing. I calibrated the monitor and it seem to work fine. I tested the water a few times with decent results and then it became erratic the PH was stuck at 0000 the temperature was wildly wrong literally read 108F! On a 80 degree day with water around the same temp! Even the salt levels were completely off. What a lemon!
