I'm a jeweler, not a dentist. I'm always looking for alternative tools outside the jewelry industry. There's a lot of crossover between dentistry and jewelry. Drilling, grinding, sanding, polishing. These polishing discs are tiny and thin, great for getting into narrow crevices and small areas where larger discs would be too big. The tiny mandrel is very short, but the shank fits my 3/32" quick change handpiece without any issues. The discs are easy to pop on and off to quickly change grits. The plastic discs hold up on the edges and do not tear unlike paper sanding discs. The aggressive blue disc makes quick work of sharp edges on metal. The other grits are good for more subtle refinement. All in all, I'm very happy with these polishing discs!

These work great for final polishing of metal and plastics with a dremel type of tool for the hobbyist. They are flexible so can work better with curves. You need to experiment with which side you want the abrasive to be on the mandrel as different tasks work better depending on what side you have placed the abrasive side. It does come with a mandrel. As a retired dentist I can say these would probably work in the mouth but I have never tried them there and if the material is not approved for use here I wouldn't use it.

I got these dental polishing disks because I currently use the 3M Sof-Lex XT Contouring and Polishing discs, but saw that these were a great deal and decided to give them a try. These polishing discs are not anything like the branded discs and barely cut. They do a decent job with polishing. I’m able to trim down enamel with the 3M discs but not these. These might work for finishing, but these will not work for reducing the incisal edges of the anterior teeth, which is where I predominately would use these polishing discs.
