We have hard water so we use distilled bottled water in our three humidifiers we did use the drop in aquasticks but I was cleaning the humidifiers every two months because of the icky odors and slimy film with allergy to mold...not good! And the drop ins are expensive Bleach gives me head aches and it's hard on the humidifiers so that's not an option. Then I found this and gave it a try, I'm so glad and happy I did! After four plus months still no icky odors no slimy film. Easy to drop two caps full of treatment in gallon of water add to humidifiers good to go. Great value for our billfold, and My nose an I are very happy!

Does what it’s supposed to do. When filling the tank or bottle for your humidifier, add the treatment AFTER the water to prevent excess foaming. I think the manufacturer needs to take another look at their directions. They say to use 2 tsp (16 ml) per gallon of water. Which one is it, 2 tsp or 16 ml. Two tsp are about 10 ml, not 16. There is nowhere on the planet that uses a 8 ml teaspoon as a unit of measure. The product comes from the USA, and our teaspoons are about 5 ml so again, how much do your chemists say to use?
