If you like blanco, this might be for you
To give some reference for my rating, when I enjoy a margarita at home I usually do two shots of Cabo Blanco and one of Ghost. So, I'm not a fan of the darker ones. I'm also not a sipping tequila person, so I cannot vouch for that taste. While not as spicy as Ghost, it does have a bit of spiciness. It also does not have the taste of the darker tequilas, if you are looking for that. But it is a nice, refreshing alternative for when I need to drive later. I've been suggesting it to my favorite restaurants as an additional choice to their spicy margaritas, so that I can enjoy more than one while out. Hopefully distributors on the east coast will start carrying it. I'm hoping that he might do a more spicy alternative in the future.

Huge fan of Trejo
I have been sober almost 2 years. My DOC was whiskey/ bourbon. I liked so many brands way too much. So I desperately wanted to like this. I have only tried one other non alcoholic whiskey Kentucky 71 or something like that both were beyond awful. What a waste of $30. Horrible not only taste or smells nothing like any kind of whiskey made the taste is sickening. I had 3 others try it too I can’t give it away. Very disappointing

Decent buy. Best used with ginger ale
Serviceable. Emjoyable after burn. Best mixed with ginger ale. Taste gets lost in ginger beer or cola.

A non alcoholic whiskey that can stand on its own
Trying to find a good non-alcoholic whiskey is like trying to find unicorn poo – rare, mythical, and probably not worth the hassle. I figured I’d give Trejo’s a shot mostly because I’m a fan of Danny Trejo himself; the guy’s story is inspiring, and I wanted to support something he put his name on. As a former whiskey drinker, I’m pretty picky (okay, downright snobby) about non-alcoholic spirits. Most of them taste like regret and artificial smoke. But wow – Trejo’s Non-Alcoholic Whiskey absolutely surprised me. Mixed into an old fashioned (my all-time favorite cocktail), it delivered that warm, oaky, slightly spicy depth I’ve been missing. The bitters and orange played perfectly with it, and for the first time in years, I had a booze-free cocktail that didn’t make me wistful for the real thing. It’s not going to fool a blindfolded bourbon connoisseur, but it doesn’t need to. It stands on its own as a solid, enjoyable non-alcoholic option. I’ll definitely be buying another bottle. Well played, Danny. Well played.

I really wanted this to be good, but there is hope
Based on the highest review of any of these alcohol, free bourbons, which was only three stars I was hoping for something at least mediocre. I get that you can’t expect this to taste like real bourbon this unfortunately totally misses the Marc. It’s watery and has very little flavor of it’s own, and has no sweetness of a bourbon. Now with that said there is hope. I don’t think whoever formulated this ever actually tasted real bourbon. Now I should not have to doctor a $30 product but that’s exactly what I did and it comes a heck of a lot closer when I’m done here the ingredients I added. Black molasses ground allspice, 2 teaspoons of white vinegar and a tablespoon of vegetable glycerin. With this it becomes remarkably palatable it’s never going to be a straight drink, but putting it in a Coke or some other bourbon drink it’s pretty damn close you see the problem here however to get there, I had to spend 30 bucks on the product and then add to it but maybe the manufacturer will take this comment and make some changes to their formula again whoever’s formulating this needs to actually taste bourbon and then go back and taste this and start adding things.

The Taste is bad
Wanted something to use during dry January. Whiskey alternative sounded like a good idea can make an old fashioned or something as I usually have Whiskey. Nothing like whiskey maybe cloves and rosemary with something spicy. Can't even cover the bad taste.

Lacking in flavor but doesn't have a lot of bad ingredients like some others
I use this for making whiskey sour cocktails. It's kind of smelly, like stinky feet, but doesn't contain all the nasty additives other mock whiskeys have. Mixed with Bittermilk whiskey sour mix, it makes a decent whiskey sour mocktail. By itself, it's rather bland.

Happy to report this is good stuff
If you've bought non-alcoholic "spirits" before, you probably can relate to the cringe of taking that first sip, please be good, please be good, please be good...Hey - this is pretty good! OK - it's not tequila. Mouthfeel is close but a little more watery, and it doesn't have the same agave richness/sweetness. But what I really do like is the finish - this is the closest I've seen yet to the "burn" finish of an alcoholic spirit. Seedlip can be used to make a good/complex mocktail, but I've always found it unimpressive by itself and this really justifies that position, to me. Try harder, Seedlip and others. I tried it last night in a palomoa, doing the recommended 1:1 substitute for tequila. The grapefruit overpowered, but when I added an extra ounce of Trejo's, that worked out pretty nicely. So as with most spirits, this is something to experiment with and make notes on how to use. (You're not going to 1:1 substitute Clase Azul for Don Julio Anejo, either...) One worry - my bottle came in a colorful box (I'm a sucker for good packaging), but there was no plastic seal over the cork? I see one in the pictures, not sure if this is a QA thing, there's an issue, or they decided NA doesn't need a seal...
