My favorite watch.
I’ve been wearing the Casio MDV106 for a while now, and it’s one of those watches that quietly earns your respect. It doesn’t try too hard, but it gets a lot right. First thing you notice is how clean it looks. Simple, classic dive watch style that works just as well with a T-shirt as it does with something a little nicer. It has a nice weight to it too. Feels solid without being bulky or uncomfortable. The build quality surprised me for the price. The case feels durable, the bezel has a satisfying click, and the screw-down crown adds that extra bit of confidence if you’re around water. I’ve knocked it around a bit and it still looks great. Timekeeping has been spot on, which is exactly what you want. Set it and forget it. The lume is decent, not blinding, but enough to check the time in low light without squinting. Honestly, it’s just a really dependable watch. Nothing flashy, nothing gimmicky, just a well-made piece that does exactly what it should. Hard to beat for the money.

Rolex looks on a Budweiser budget
The Casio MDV106 is an outstanding watch that proves you don’t need to spend a fortune to get great style and reliability. It has that classic dive watch look—honestly giving off a bit of a Rolex vibe—but at what I like to call a Budweiser budget. The build quality is impressive for the price, with a solid feel, clear dial, and reliable quartz movement that just keeps ticking. It’s comfortable to wear, looks great with anything from casual clothes to a nicer outfit, and the durability is exactly what you’d expect from Casio. If you want a sharp-looking, dependable watch without draining your wallet, this one is hard to beat.

Incredible value!
One of the best dive watches. Incredible value for the price. A surprising strap monster. I have paired it with over a dozen straps and it looks great with all of them.

The best cheap dive watch you can get, as long as you don't overpay
This was one of my first purchases of a better than average watch. I know Casio isn't the most expensive or even the biggest but they are one of the most respected and even beloved. I took a look at a number of cheap dive watches since the style really spoke to me but one name constantly came up during my searches. The "Duro". Now the Duro is very commonly seen with the resin strap and is usually the cheaper, but I was more than lucky to get my hands on the bracelet version for under $70. In my opinion $60 for the resin strap and $80 for the metal bracelet is more than worth it, if you can get it for cheaper even better. Just don't overpay. Of course this thing has what you need for an actually good dive watch. Screw down crown, screw down back and both of those help get its 200m water resist which is oddly something you don't see too often. Whenever I wear this thing I feel its weight and it feels hefty. It did take me a while to adjust the bracelet, but the fact that I did not need some specialty too was great. I just used a thin flat head to wiggle out the pins and adjusted it to my 7.5 inch wrist. The bezel is great too and the clicking is satisfying. I did manage to grab a different resin strap for it from another casio that had an identical looking resin strap and tried it. I'll be honest I greatly prefer the bracelet. It barely tugs at hairs and can mostly be adjusted nearly perfectly. I just wish there was more than a mere two micro adjustment holes at the clasp. Even thought I didn't spend that much on it, it feels like something I might as well have spent $200-$400 on, and technically that pricing is on the lower end for dive watches. Yet they managed to get all of this goodness crammed into something less than $90

Great quartz diver style watch for the price. Read my breakdown review.
What a cool watch. There's something about this watch that gives it a character. First off, it's BIG on my 7" wrist. 44mm is usually in the "EVERYBODY LOOK AT MY WATCH" territory. If they had made it 42mm, they may not have had to also make a 38mm (36mm, actually), version. I usually prefer no larger than 42mm and no smaller than 40mm. I will say though, that unlike Invicta, this watch doesn't look like a huge chunk of metal on your wrist. I own a lot of watches, mostly Seiko automatics, Citizen Eco-Drives, and some cheapies like this. Let's get the CONS out of the way first: I ordered the black dial with the steel bracelet, which is nearly double the price of the version with the plastic band. Don't do this. The bracelet isn't worth the extra cost. The steel band looks very nice, but it's clackety, and removing links to adjust the size is a total nightmare. You can only push the joiners out so far, then you need a good pair of pliers to get them the rest of the way out, and they simply DO. NOT. WANT. TO. COME. OUT. One of them sliced my finger and made me bleed. Just get the version with the plastic band, and if you want a nicer band or bracelet, get a 3rd party one. (BTW, I have another one with the black band, and it's actually very good.) The crown is a bit quirky: it doesn't have the usual 2-point stops, it has 3 very loose ones, and it's hard to know which stop is for the date adjustment and which one is for the time adjustment. I have two of these watches and it's the same on both. No AR = Big disappointment. The lack of any AR coating on the mineral crystal makes it hard to read the dial under lights because of the glare. I'd gladly pay more for AR coating on any watch. It gives the dial impressive clarity in most lighting situations. That's the biggest improvement they could make on this watch. The lume is not going to compete with a Seiko of course, but I hit it with a UV flashlight and a turbo bright flashlight, 15 seconds each before bed, and when I woke up 4 hours later, I could still read the time in the dark. (BTW, the pip at the 12:00 position helps a lot.) No lume stays as bright as it is when you first expose it to bright light, it dims down quite a bit right away. The question is, how long does it remain visible in the dark afterward? I think this just might make it to 6 or 7 hours. The bezel rotates nice and firmly, but it's horizontally sloppy and wiggles around when you spin it. It's really not a big deal, but that wouldn't happen on a Seiko (@ 6x the price). However, despite that, it aligns with the indices perfectly, which is unusual, and it stays tightly in place wherever you set it. PROS: Despite its gigantic size, it looks very nice. It reminds me of Tim Allen's Rolex on Last Man Standing, from a distance of course. Screw-down crown - excellent feature on a cheap watch. That's how it can go 200 whatever's deep. Seconds hand aligns perfectly with all indices. That may not always be the case, so I feel lucky this time. The dial (black) is a sunray dial, which is so much nicer than cheap matte black. The Marlin logo on the front and etching on the back look cool. Too bad they're being phased out due to expired licensing. I surmise that no one would buy this same watch without the Marlins, and that it will likely be phased out once the existing stocks run dry. Who has ownership of the name of a fish?? It's weight isn't too far off from a mechanical/automatic watch. It's a bit lighter, but still has some weight, doesn't feel cheap like a Timex or an Armitron. VERDICT: Casio made a nice looking, useful watch that looks like a Rolex diver from a distance. The quality is acceptable enough without it being a piece of Walmart crap. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Must admit I was worried, especially with it coming from the States and some of the reviews saying it was fake and the bezel didn’t turn. My worries were unfounded, the watch is excellent quality. FYI the bezel only rotates one way and only after removing the protective covering from the glass. I ordered the steel strap and it was very easy to adjust and fits comfortably on my wrist. Also delivery surpassed itself arriving 7 days early. Extremely pleased with this purchase.
