Amazing new hobby
I've never used a 3d printer before so this is my first time and introduction to this hobby. First off I was having problems, the printer would not perform the auto self leveling. After a few emails to ankermake we reised the machine had a fault. They sent me out a new printer and all was good. Correspondence was good and aftercare was excellent. It's so simple to use and factory tuned really well. It prints fast and the prints are excellent. TBF I didn't know what to expect but didn't realise modern printers could produce so much detail. I did look at resin printers but way to much faffing and I didn't care for the dangerous chemical. If you print table top miniatures then yes you will get higher quality detail but at a cost. I absolutely love the printer and it's certainly my new hobby. I'm not into printed all that rubbish out there like toys and gadgets which are basically junk. I love the practical things like I've printed loads of hooks and storage things for the garage. I made a nice hook for the hosepipe and printed in white to match the uPVC windows . It works well. Learnt CAD can be hard but tinkercad first then cura. Designing or modifying models for your own use is something else. Printing and holding something you have designed yourself never gets old. I would highly recommend this printer and love how it's all controlled from your phone, having no screen is actually a plus for me as I'd rather sit comfortably in another room and do it all on my phone instead of bending look at a screen on the printer. I'm not going to go through the features and how to set up etc, there's plenty online. I've been unwell in hospice 2 months and slowly recovering at home. This printer has opened up a new hobby for me. I'm printing a ceiling mounted glados from the game portal. She will will have lights and servos inside and along with chatgpt 40 will be my workshop funny sarcastic and slightly dangerous 😉 assistant. I was a bored 54 year old guy receiving from hospital. Now I'm tiny stark tinkering in my room. Yes, I am iron man. 🤣🤣
