It is simple, light, easy to use and carry. We bought it to help us scan in old letters from and to my grandmother and it works well. At family gatherings I could actively join conversations while scanning at the same time. I could use the cord to upload the hundreds of jpg files later. I had to do a few trials to understand how to make sure all margins were clear. No problems. I did not use the software provided yet as the jpg files were enough for what i needed.

Using this for a trip to Greece, and I’m really happy with the results. I noticed a ton of errors in the reviews. Please read the manual carefully! You must press the TIMESET and the FORMAT button before you can start scanning. They’re tiny pinhole buttons, so use a toothpick or even an earring stem (that’s what I used) to press them. Once you do this, the “SD Card FULL” message goes away, the green button should turn on to SCAN, and the scanner works perfectly.

Hard to get to function. Formatting and SD issues. Scanning is bad quality, leaves bright line at the start of scan and darkens the rest of the image. Jumps around the image if you don’t get the pace exactly right…. Extremely finicky would not recommend. You’re better off taking a picture on your phone.

Excellent compact scanner with good quality.

The plug-in chip goes into the device - upside down. It works fine. When I stuck in a little pin-tip into the hole - I think it pushed the internal switch out of alinement. But it still seems to work OK. No problems. It just takes a little practice to get the scans perfect. I think it is worth the investment.

I bought this for my college aged daughter. I think she likes it. She’s never really told me she likes it. I mean she said Thank You when I bought it for her, but it’s never really come up in our conversations. For example, she’s never said, dad, I was using my scanner and etc.,etc.. I’m sure it’s the best portable scanner available at this price and would definitely buy it again.

It is so easy to use! Simple to set up. Insert batteries, the SD memory card (included), choose your format, and scan. I use it when I travel to historic societies so I can scan important documents. Great scanner!

Randomly turns off, had to try 3 different brands of batteries before it worked, amazon basic batteries were the only ones that stayed on. The memory card it came with was not formatted and was incompatible with the device so you have to connect it via USB and format the card for FAT 32 to make it recognize the card. Absolutely idiotic that it isn't formatted out of the box, the format button doesnt work and you need a pin to press it in and it just returns "err". Obviously no thought or intelligence went into anything about this product which is unfortunate because these are handy just stick with the established brands and skip this junk one.
