Miso is an ingredient that I've heard about for many years and always wanted to try, but never remembered whenever I went to the store. I finally decided to just order some to try, and I am so glad I did. The flavor in this miso is wonderfully deep. It is extremely salty, but I am a sodium fanatic, so it's perfect for me. I also love the almost bitter note around the edges that give this paste an interesting complexity. I love boosting my fried rice, ramen, soups, etc. with this stuff. I feel like this could be a good substitute for a bouillon cube, as well. I've also tried it on buttered toast, similar to how you would eat Vegemite (which I also love), to great success. Fully recommend!

Good flavor and easy storage.

Good product. Stored in fridge after opening but it discolored. Discoloration does not seem to impact flavor.

I'm on a Doctor-ordered low-sodium diet and it is hard to find ingredients that have good flavors. This is a delicious miso that will help you add umami without a lot of salt. I have made a couple different soups and it added a nice base. I especially liked it in the Chickpea coconut soup recipe. It really grounded the flavor.
