The Ultimate Quest 3 Head Strap Upgrade You Didn’t Know You Needed
So, I’ve been using the BOBOVR M3 Pro Head Strap with my Meta Quest 3, and I’ve got to say—it’s a massive upgrade over the stock strap. If you’re spending any real time in VR, comfort and balance make all the difference, and this thing delivers in spades. Build Quality & Design First off, the build quality is spot on. It feels solid, well-made, and doesn’t creak or flex like cheaper alternatives. The real star here, though, is the magnetic battery system—and honestly, it’s brilliant. The battery just snaps into place with a strong magnetic connection, so there’s no messing around with clips or cables. Need to swap it out mid-game? No problem—it detaches smoothly, and the new one clicks right in. It’s a small detail, but it makes managing battery life effortless. Comfort & Fit Comfort-wise, this strap absolutely delivers. The weight distribution is excellent, so the Quest 3 feels much more balanced on my head, rather than pressing down on my face. It’s snug without being too tight, and here’s the best part—I can lift the headset up while keeping the strap in place. That might not sound like a big deal, but if you ever need to check your surroundings, grab a drink, or just take a quick break without readjusting everything, it’s incredibly convenient. Battery Life The included battery pack is a great addition, but don’t expect it to completely eliminate battery drain. It extends playtime for sure, but under heavy use, the Quest 3 will still lose charge—just at a much slower rate. If you’re planning super long sessions, it’s worth grabbing an extra battery to swap in. That said, the ease of swapping batteries thanks to the magnetic system makes it way more practical than dealing with cables or external packs. Final Thoughts Would I recommend it? Absolutely. The BOBOVR M3 Pro is a huge quality-of-life improvement for the Quest 3. It’s comfortable, sturdy, and makes dealing with battery life effortless. The ability to flip the headset up while keeping the strap in place is a game-changer, and the magnetic battery swap system is one of those features that just makes sense. If you’re still using the default strap, just upgrade already. You won’t regret it.

Should have bought this ages ago
Anyone with a standard Q3 will know that the strap is awful. The headset sits heavy on your face and to keep it secure it has to be pulled tight against your face which is really uncomfortable. After reading many reviews I bought this Bobovr one. Well, whole different ball game! The strap itself fastens comfortably around your head, all padded, and the headset itself is supported just in front of your face. You can then just move it back so it sits just touching your face to keep the light out. the battery on the back balances the weight of the headset so you dont really feel any weight to it. The extra battery keeps your headset battery fully charged until it runs out and then the internal one takes over until empty. Obviously if you have two of the Bobo batteries you can just charge and swap them mid game, the magnetic mount makes it easy, you just feel around until it gets grabbed by the magnet and its on. Well made, comfortable and a whole new experience compared to the useless strap that comes with the quest3.

The BOBOVR M3 Pro Redefines Meta Quest 3 Comfort
I've been using the BOBOVR M3 Pro Head Strap with my Meta Quest 3 for a while now, and it's truly transformed my VR experience compared to the stock strap. The build quality is excellent—the materials feel solid and durable, and the magnetic battery system is a standout feature. Swapping out the battery is quick and secure, which is a real boon during long gaming sessions. One major improvement is the strap’s adjustment ability. It’s designed to fit a wide range of head sizes, and fine-tuning the fit is straightforward. This means the weight of the headset is evenly distributed, eliminating the forehead pressure and discomfort I used to feel. Whether I’m immersed in a game or taking a quick break, the strap stays perfectly in place. Functionality-wise, the BOBOVR M3 Pro not only makes battery management effortless but also enhances overall performance by maintaining a balanced and secure fit during even the most intense sessions. Plus, the materials are easy to clean—wiping down the strap after long sessions is a breeze, which is a great bonus for keeping things hygienic. That said, there are a couple of minor downsides. Installing the strap can be a bit fiddly at first, and the instructions could be clearer. Also, if you plan to use your headset for movie watching while sitting in a chair, the back part of the strap might interfere with the headrest, making it a bit less comfortable in that setup. Overall, the BOBOVR M3 Pro is a fantastic upgrade for anyone who spends a lot of time in VR. It dramatically improves comfort and functionality, extends playtime with its hot-swap battery feature, and makes adjustments and cleaning hassle-free. Highly recommended as a better alternative to the standard Quest 3 strap.

Easy to fit, comfortable but doesn't push the headset onto your face.
The fit was very easy, with just a couple of snap ons and the quality does seem very good. The battery doesn't last very long at all but is very easy removed and charged (a magnetic drop on). The only issue I have is the fact that as it's a over the head strap, there's no pressure on the headset, so the field of view is slightly reduced and more light leakage. You can improve it with a bit of fiddling but I would have preferred some sort of strap that pulled it up onto the face a little.

Great replacement for the original strap
Having received my headset strap + battery and having used it for a few hours, I can say that it’s certainly a vast improvement over the standard strap. Very comfortable and padded, as well as being incredibly simple to put on and take off. When I tested with pcvr the additional freedom granted by the extra battery was welcome. I will note that it won’t support the quest 3 for too long, but it kept my quest at 96% for a 1hr session on no man’s sky vr, with 50% battery remaining on the battery pack, so it’s likely to cover my typical gaming sessions nicely. After a recharge and with red matter 2 stand-alone on the quest, I managed to deplete the battery in 2hours with the quest sitting at 80% by that time. I should note, unlike a review I read of the m3 the battery for me does not whine or make any noise under load, nor does it get warm. I had concerns about this but it would appear to not be an issue (at least for mine). I’m sold on the halo strap over the default. Can’t speak for how it compares to the elite, but as a newcomer to vr headsets I can say this strap finally makes the quest 3 viable for long term play with no pain at all. Great product and I felt the price fair.

Amazing
Super comfortable, I love that it takes almost all of the weight off your face. I would personally get the newer model now though (it wasn’t out at the time I bought this) since the batteries that this one comes with aren’t strong enough to actually charge the quest 3 while in use, only prolong its battery life. It does still extend play time by a few hours though. The size is super adjustable and the quality feels great, it doesn’t feel like a cheap product. I’ve been using it for a long time and have had no issues.

Excellent! Comfortable!
Fantastic halo strap. Very comfortable for the extended hours playing Quest with the additional battery support it provides!

Not perfect, but still very good
The M3 Pro is a vast improvement on the standard strap, shifting the weight into your forehead and the top of your head instead of squashing the headset into your face and cheeks. It doesn't have a huge amount of adjustment, but it's not too hard to find a position that you can just set and leave. I've found that the amount of time I can spend comfortably in VR has doubled as a result. There are lots of great comments already, so I'll add a few of my own findings instead of repeating them: 1. When you first put the strap together, the rear head cushion has a felt and a right side. This isn't clear in the instructions so check carefully for the markings before you attach it or it won't fit your head properly. It's hard to detach if you get it wrong. 2. The rubbery hexagon insert for that part feels more comfortable to me than the padded cushion, and doesn't move around as much in use. That swaps over with velcro. 3. The velcro strap for the headset doesn't seem to do much as the unit is pretty much fixed in place. I found that it tended to loop back and sit on top of the forehead cushion and in contact with my skin, but that may just be how I fitted it. l I left it unconnected with no issues 4. When adjusted to its closest setting the face gasket sits exactly where it did with the normal strap, but with no pressure. I experienced no reduction in field of view at all. 5. I charged the battery to full and then used it to recharge the Quest 3S as a test. It managed 80%, so I think the 1.5 hours of extra time is a bit optimistic. 6. Even if the battery isn't great, attaching it to the headset provides excellent balance at the expense of some weight. 7. The battery beeps are LOUD when you connect it, and when it's nearly flat. That'll beep into your ears unexpectedly at around 10% charge, and it'll keep going every minute or so until you disconnect it. It's really not necessary.
