Great Product!
This thing works great! I just did my 6” stove pipe with a 90 degree bend off the back of the stove. No issues with the product and I know it will hold up to years of abuse. Made for a quick and easy clean. No need to hire a chimney sweep.

It worked in my stainless corrugated chimney liner all 24'.
Product worked as advertised. If you have a heavy creosote build up this will not work. At the top 1 foot of my chimney where the smoke cools the build up was sticky and wasn't easily removed. I'm glad when I installed my liner that I insulated it as it will keep the smoke exiting the chimney until it exits. The top 1 foot of the chimney couldn't be insulated and that's where the creosote was. The rest of the chimney was easily cleaned.

Great product
This is what our chimney sweep used but he charges alot of money. We need the chimney cleaned 2 x a year so we decided to try this product since it is what he had used. Its fantastic and we can do it when we want to. Saves us alot of money and easy to use. Very happy with this product.

Worked for wood stove with a 90 degree angle
I have a wood stove with a 90 degree angle if cleaning from the bottom. The first rotation or two, the rods were fairly stiff, but afterward they warmed up and rotated with ease. You need to have some horizontal clearance though because there is an optimal radius for the 90 degree bend or the rods may snap on rotation. My radius was 12-18 inches

Poorly designed - updated
Edit: raised from 1 star to 3 stars because the soot buster itself does a really good job. But the design of the chimney cap attachment brushes and set screws is flawed. I still had to get on the roof and manually inspect and clean the chimney cap. Strangely, it's otherwise really well made. Original: I might be able to tell you how it cleans if I could get the chimney cap set screws to work. If you put the set screws in first, you can't thread the line. If you muscle it, the set screws pop out. If you put the brush lines in first, there's not enough thread to catch the set screws. So, instead of cleaning my chimney, I'm spending the afternoon doing this and wishing I'd called a chimney sweep. Very, very poor design.

Not a perfect tool, but good enough for me!
To clean the chimney from “Bottom Up”, it’s not that easy to clean ALL sides of the chimney due to the angle of the first rod. The first rod is supposed to be attached to a drill on one end & inserted in the chimney on the other end. So, when done, I went to the roof & looked thru the chimney to observe the quality of my work. Also, I found it difficult to disconnect some of the rods despite making use of the attached hex key.

Well worth the price.
I cleaned my flue today. This system did a very good job. I have a 7' square flue. Cleaned from the basement up. Went through the stove pipe thimble. All the soot fell below the thimble to the cleanout. Very sturdy connections, and rods.

Worked like a charm for me
Th8s is what I have been looking for so that, at the age of 50, I can sweep my chimney from my basement. Easy to assemble, sturdy, worked perfectly for my 30 foot chimney. Soot piled up at bottom after just two trips up and down chimney. Hooked it up to a Milwaukee battery operated hand drill. Awesome!
